Hi, my name is Lucas, I'm 61 married 3 sons and two granddaughters. Been riding for over 45 years also been racing endurance on european level for ten years. Have a degree in automotive engineering and in chemical technology and specialised in combustion engines. Like to make things fast, my red ST1300 has 174HP with modified camshafts and a remapped ECU.
On the Dutch forum I'm a moderator and I help out with technical problems.

Lucas, Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on making a :rd13: with 174hp, you have now proven that :rd13: are the fastest! :eek1:

Welcome Lucas from Northumberland UK.
Your 174 bhp 13 is going to cause a stir.
Enjoy your time here.
Upt'North.
Well, that won't be the first time, Molenaar (from the race team) told someone on the dutch forum it was impossible to remap the ECU, what he ment was that he could'nt affort the time to do it..... Took me tree weeks to figure it out and then some to write a new mapping.

Welcome Luc - from Canada’s sunny southern coast in Windsor, Ontario! It’s great to have another automotive engineer on the forum.

I’d be very keen to know more about the modifications you’ve made on your ST1300 to help it produce so much power.

Another question: have you found any durability issues with the roughly 30% increase in power?

The ST1100 and 1300 are so reliable and durable that (as far as I know) very few people have ever done any major engine work on them and there seems to be virtually no performance upgrade parts available for these bikes.

Any insights you could offer would be of great interest to us all, I am sure.

Kind regards,

Pete

Welcome from WA STate...!!!
Like others, I would love to hear more about your mods. I bet you could sell a few kits to those who wish to have that kind of power in their right hand.....:thumb:

Until recently I had a 2000 CBR1100XX. Loved the bike, but seeing as how I had it set up for long distance riding but then developed a pinched nerve in the neck/shoulder area I couldn't ride it. Sold it. Bought the ST hoping it would scratch the itch. Mmmmmm, not quite.

Now,.......with an extra 50 horses I might have a new best friend!

Luc, we're here whenever you're available for some details!

Hey Luc, how about posting up a video of your ST? I'd love to hear what one sounds like with 175HP!
