Improvement to OEM Seat?

Counterbalancing the Spencer thread, preliminary results from my new-to-me Sargent are less than I'd hoped. MARGINALLY better than the OEM but I still get squirmy after a couple hundred miles, even with breaks every hour to 90 minutes. My hunt isn't over yet.

After trying several different aftermarket seats, the last seat I bought for my ST is a RDL. In hindsight, going straight to the Russell would have been cheaper. Even after 10-12 hours of riding to the point that I am tired, I still have a happy tush. The RDL seat is easily the best money I spent on that bike.

I have read that same thing many times from many folks. And I believe it. There's likely an RDL in my future as well, but there was a used Sargent available for a reasonable price and everyone's backside is unique so there was a chance that I could get away le$$ $pendily... or not. :-/ Plus, now I have a saddle I can use to keep riding while the OEM is sent off to Russell for conversion.
 
If you do have Russell rebuild your OEM pan, consider keeping the Sargent. RDL seats are great for long rides, but I find that they aren't very sporty on short rides carving the canyon or valley roads; It is essentially a bucket seat. I use a Corbin most of the time for commuting and rides <= 300 miles or so; I use the RDL for any ride more than that.
 
I had the same problem with Spenser - I'm in PB Gardens, but I'm in Stuart often. I ended up with a Russell seat and love it. I also have a heated Corbin in the garage I'll make you a deal on.
