I'm calling on the owners of Police models

This was one of my own service bikes, an ABS ST11 in more modern markings. The picture was taken at a Classic Motorcycle event in Stafford. Happy memories.
Judging from the goldish colour of its wheels, that Pan started out as a 1992 to 1995 ABS I model.
(I also have happy memories of one of those; mine is a '95.)

If it is shown there wearing the stock ST1100P seat and rear cowl, it tells us that such a seat and rear cowl can be put onto a non-police ST Pan.

Martin's 1996 English Police ST1100P has the following official designation:

1996 ST1100PT (E). That is a version of a model that contains versions also for Spain, Austria, European Direct and maybe other Western European markets.

One parts list for his version can be found on this European Honda dealer's page:

https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-st1100p-paneuropean-1996-t-englandmkh_model4761/partslist/#.XNcjG4pKiUk

A European rider has merged that parts list in with other 1996 Police ST1100s to form the following, larger parts list:

https://www.st-1100.com/st1100pt.html .

The parts in that list that are marked (E) in the Comments field were used on the 1996 English version, such as the one Martin rebuilt.

That list covers also the 1996 Australian Police ST1100P. Parts there that are marked (U) are for that Australian model.

That list seems to also cover some of the 1996 Standard ST1100 version for Norway. I think including that non-police Pan is a mistake on the part of the rider that made that larger list.

And has anyone seen or heard of an Owners Manual for an ST1100P, or for an ST1100P Pan European?
My ST1100P came with an Owners manual. I thumbed through it a bit and noted some of the police items.

If it is shown there wearing the stock ST1100P seat and rear cowl, it tells us that such a seat and rear cowl can be put onto a non-police ST Pan.
Swapping the solo seat for a dual, or vice-versa is a simple process. Takes maybe an hour to change over.

I am in the final touches of the restoration of my ST1100 Ex Police Bike.
It has happened twice while riding that the engine stops. Very dangerous. The reason is that the Engine Stop Switch shown in the scheme is very sensitive and is difficult to get to the Run Mode.
I need to disassemble the Control in order to fix it. If somebody has done it, I will appreciate tips and advice.
My question are: a) has disassembled the Police Right Handlebar Controls?, b) something that will "jump" like springs or small balls?

Martin and all,

I agree that any bike that cuts off the engine by cutting off the ignition in error, without warning, is dangerous to ride.

How is your weather there? Are you close enough to winter that you can park that bike and take your time to fully correct this problem?

Maybe you should buy a used, right hand switch gear, which is shown in the attached parts diagram as item number 5.

Hello Dave an all,
Yes, we are close to enter to winter, but fortunately we can continue riding. Rains are predictable and rarely snows in the central part of Chile, except mountains. The worst temperature is close to freezing... manageable.
In the following days I will disassemble the right control. I will take pictures and report the result.
In the worst case I will buy a new one

Martin and all, I opened one of those right hand switches that was not on a police model. No springs or balls sprang forth. But it was not possible to open that switch assembly very far because, I think, everything inside has wires attached to it, and those wires are pretty firmly attached to the outer shell.

Who here has gone deeper?

Who has experienced a faulty "kill" switch on any ST1100? (Maybe moisture intrusion was at fault? By the way, the attaching screws may not be the same length.)

ALL,

Attached is a photo of what I think is the correct service manual addition for an ST1100P. It is dated 2003.
It is titled Honda Service Manual Addendum ST1100P. (Honda part number 61MY311-AH.)

And we have seen here at least two links to the parts lists for a 2003 USA Police ST1100P. Here is one link:

https://www.partsfish.com/oemparts/l/hon/5053e763f870021c54be2c48/2003-st1100p-a-parts . And the other was on ww.ronayers.com/

Martin and all,

You may have more luck if you post your situation in our nearby, electrical forum:

(Specify ST1100 as opposed to ST1300.)

If that does not work, bear in mind that there were roughly only 100 North American Police ST1100s made. There were more than that made for Australia, and even more for Europe.

(To contact Australian ST owners, you might try something called ww.ozstoc.com.au .)

Thank you Dave.
I need to find time to put my hands on the Police Switch Assembly.
I will report the result here and ST1100 Electrical.

Here is a link to one that is "on sale" on an auction site:
Its shipping to the USA seems to be free.

Here is a link to a second one:
Sorry for the interruption to the technical discussion.
