IL-Northern: Tag

Invoking rule #8. New tag. It sure doesn't look like it does in the pictures online but it is the year round haunted house which has seen better days.

Stopped by the Old Tag on our 3rd annual play hookie from work day ride. (1st Wed in Oct) and settled for the new Tag much closer to my new location.
I think I feel good enough to go to work tomorrow. Whatever is was seems to have past.

The first pic is the previous tag, a wonderful state park near the suburbs with fishing, hunting, a shotgun range, etc.
The second pic is the new tag a little north and west. This barn is ginormous! When searching for it, think “8”.

Quick Mother's Day ride this morning. Grey, overcast and 50 degrees. Still beats working!!

Old Tag on South Paw Paw Rd.

New Tag just a little more South.

The previous tag at the Rt. 34 Drive-In located in Earlville. With the closing of the Cascade in West Chicago, one of the last ones in IL.


The new tag. Should be easy to figure the town in which it resides. What a day for a ride!!!!

After a Father's Day Family breakfast and visit, the Family let me go for a quick ride.
Gray day but stayed dry today.
Old Tag in Sterling on W 2nd street
New tag a little South East from the old.
Lets keep this chugging along!

To this old fart, 65 and sunny is about as good as it gets, as it was today! The previous tag in Amboy, one of quite a few carvings in the city park. Many were created from trees downed in a tornado.


The new tag in honor of all those who serve or have served as Veteran’s Day approaches.

The previous tag at an entrance to the Sandwich Fair. Everything is all locked up since the fair, normally held this next week, is a COVID casualty.


The new tag a bit south and west of Sandwich. This is a shoe tree. Many shoes up in the tree with the leaves obscuring the view.

A closed Bridge detour and some cloud cover cost me some sunlight but a BUG run after dinner is better than NO run at all!!
Old tag was a shoe tree at JCT 23 & 52 North of Ottawa IL
New Tag if you can't make out the sign reads Kendall County Fair Grounds.

Old Tag Whiskey Acres (got a chuckle out of the JB sign, had to share)
New Tag back a little SE. Bring Sandwich with you in case you get hungry.
This may be my first TAG on the Pumpkin!

The new tag a bit south and west. Student Abe. Get there quickly before some yahoos pull it down. Tough to Google because of the flap over Abe at UW Madison. Town is the same name as Abe.

Got time off from my Covid-infected facility. Old tag in Lincoln. Notice no parking spots nearby. Had to get the bike on a sidewalk. Not sure I could have gotten as close as Mondo without tipping.

New tag a little west and north. If you're lucky, you might get a sight of these--a squadron of pelicans.

N.B. about 2 miles of gravel to get to the site, not bad.

A little rain along the River Route but dry at the old tag Lock & Dam 17. The dry gravel dust doesn’t look good on black but still miles of smiles!
The new Tag same as the IL-AZ "Z" Game back toward the east some at the Junction

The previous tag at a restaurant/bar pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Good thing it was closed because it looks like a fun place.



The new tag. I love the murals all along the original Lincoln Highway.

Nice day for a ride, but I'm still not ready for a Ride-to-eat. Old tag was in, obviously, Oregon Illinois, Nice drive from Dixon to there, after a sprint up I88. I guess state troopers have pulled back because some folks, not necessarily me, tend to travel very fast

New tag is a bit west.
