Gloves Heated Gloves (electric, battery)

Okay what happened?
Using heated grips with goretex gloves in the rain causes the goretex to work backwards - my hands got wetter. Not a good thing during a 6 hr ride in +6c pouring rain from Ullapool to Durness, Scotland..

I ordered these a month ago.

Currently unavailable. Too bad. This means it may be awhile before they're restocked or– they may never be seen again. If they're imported from CN the latter is more likely. With your review they seem to be pretty decent. How much did Bezo get for them? I'd have been tempted to get 2 pair.

Mittens wouldn't work for me. When my hands get cold I can barely stand for my fingers to touch each other. I have heated motorcycle gloves that plug into my WnS jacket liner. But these would be great when away from the bike with no VDC to the gloves. Or for a quick ride where the WnS liner isn't needed or worth the time. Convenience has its place.

I also searched without success for the SabotHeat gloves last December. They weren't on Amazon UK anyway, and every lead I found ended up in the US. To import from the US these days, it's necessary to sell several internal organs. I looked on the usual suspects in China too. Pity, because I liked the idea of 11.4V.

Had this brand for some years , both battery and 12 volt functions are great, and have found them to work great and a good value for the price!

Starting today many things coming into the US may need a friend to donate organs as well.

I took a look and everything I saw was 7.4V. Are you connecting it to 12V, or did I miss a 12V pair of gloves?

Patience. You're still in the heated gear season. Now is not the time to buy any winter gear. But!!!...in a few short weeks, the retailers will be trying to dump their inventory and discounting that favorite set of heated gloves.

Rule of thumb...plan ahead. But winter gear on sale in the late spring/early summer. Buy summer gear in the fall. You'll save a lot of $$$.

i'm still using first gen Tourmaster synergy 12v gloves. a couple years ago i bought some Weston battery powered gloves to wear while blowing snow and they worked well for that. one day i came up with the bright idea to wear them and take a ride on my IceBear. i was maybe a half mile from home when i noticed that even with the gloves on hi my hands were cold so i turned around and headed home, hopefully the battery powered motorcycle gloves work much better

My SabotHeat gloves say they operate on 11.1 V. One of these days I'll confirm that this is indeed the battery output from one of the gloves' freshly charged battery.

I predict that at some point a few years from now the batteries will no longer have much of a run time and it won't be very useful to keep recharging them after every short trip.

So at that point I may bypass the battery packs and try wiring these gloves directly to my bike's electrical system (taking a risk that I may destroy them if my experiment fails.)

That's pretty much the fate of every battery made. Eventually they die. I have heated gloves that work well on my bike beyond the coldest weather I'll ever see. My hands get very cold very quickly and heated gloves are the only ones that have been comfortable. I should have got them long ago.

Generally speaking if you keep your core warm your hands and feet will continue to be good circulation and stay warm -ish. Even with my Warm n Safe jacket liner my hands still "froze" with heavy insulated M/C gloves. Heated gloves changed that. Battery heated gloves aren't for when I'm on the bike but could be a backup if the bikes heat circuit fails.

I walk 3mi a day except in rain or < ~60ºF weather. Unless the ambient temperature is ~60ºF or better my hands get painfully cold. Insulated gloves don't help much. Battery heated gloves would work a treat. If I get 2-3yrs out of the batteries I'm ok with that.

Sorry, just saw this. Everything runs off 12v on bike when plugged in.
Gloves can run on the batteries alone and if hooked up to the bike with batteries installed in gloves, the batteries will be charging up.
