Since 'half a million' sounds more impressive than '500,000' I'll go with that.
I was down to only 60 miles left so I took sort of a 'ceremonial' ride to finish it off.
I felt like RedBird - who started it all in 1997 - was the proper machine for this milestone.
And since I love the Natchez Trace it seemed like the proper place.
When I hit 100,000 miles on RedBird I was crossing the Trace bridge at highway 96 so I decided to do the same on this one.
I still own all four ST1100s that covered those miles and they are all in running, rideable condition.
I never heard the 'siren's call' to get something else as the ST1100 does all I need a motorcycle to do - move my body and move my spirit.
Will I make the second half million?
Probably not but we are sure going to give a good shot!

Congrats on this epic milestone!

I don't know how some small little 1100 bikes can even get you down the road for a half millions of miles but good job!

That blue bike you've been riding a bunch lately sure is a nice looking bike. Enjoy them Phil!

Yeah, I'm trying to burn off the rest of that set of tires so I can put fresh ones on for ONSToc coming up! ;)

I will break form here, and make an uncharacteristic post... so without further ado, and with absolutely ZERO sarcasm, ...you have my respect, @Uncle Phil .

Well done, sir.

And with all the thrilling tasty temptresses for 2 wheeled motorized transport available today, your loyalty and faithfulness is likewise unique and laudable.

Well, after reading his whole Highway 93 trip and seeing all those omelets with pig meat and the other gravy loaded meals he eats I am truly amazed he has made it this far. He must have found a way to drain that oil out his body! Wow, what a rider AND writer!
