October 18th 2024.
Ay up me ducks, the Italian Dark Roast is ready, fear not. The day is saved.
It's a welcome sunny start here, hopefully the rivers which have made a good attempt to escape their respective banks will retreat a little. Warm, sunny and still'ish. Heaven. But they say a storm will bloweth soon. Pffffffftttttt.
We don't want much more rain, the roads were blocked to Alnwick upon the Aln yesterday due to flooding. It meant a bit of a detour but we managed. All alcohol and coffee was cupboardised.
Today will be the day of injectorisation after lunch and before that there'll be some'ats. Blummin some'ats.
Er'Indoors will be havin a flu covid double jobbie and me just the flu. Apparently I'm not worthy of the Covid jab.
Pffffffftttttt.
Av a gud un and remember, put your best arm forward.
Upt.

It looks a bit like an Ashley.
Secondhand left sider storm apparently.
Pffffffftttttt.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Ray. Could you send some of the rain back this way. We’ve had ONE rain in almost 3 months, and that was 4” that occurred in one day, as Helene passed by.

It’s 38 to start, under clear skies, and headed to 70 for the high. During my drive on the Natchez Trace yesterday, I noticed a couple of specie of trees that are starting to turn. Pfffttt. They must have seen some rain. All my trees are dropping their leaves before they’re changing.

I have no idea what’s in store for today. I think I’ll let it surprise me.

John

Thx Ray!
It’s just a little pin prick, but it will help you get comfortably numb.
Roger told me.
Speaking of waters, we (too) really don’t need more for a while.
Please redirect all rain to John.

13˚c/55f, 25mph wind from south, sunny for now, quite nice.

I’m going for a ride.
Sometimes we have to do the important stuff in our lives.

Performance with the choir tonight.
No wine or shrimps.
But tomorrow.

Happy Friday!
Stu

Good Morning All! And happy Fryday!
Sounds like we're all in the Pink today!
Thank you for the caffeination, Ray and of course that very colorful tie-dyed print.
Scary stuff, that.

The lawn was seeded yesterday mysteriously (not really) - yeah I lost most of it due to drought, fungus and hurricanes.
Now I'll pour some more money on it and see what happens.

Hey! It's getting colder here in Paradise. Yeah, no more sweating during outdoor activities.
Leaves are changing, dawn is dawning - it's good.
I think I'll rest though - my back's still sore from pushing my tractor around the yard!

Y'all have a wonderfill day!

Where's Waldo2?

Morning all and thanks for the coffee Ray.

Another cold ride this morning at -1C, but it was clear. The sun hadn't made it over the horizon yet but the sky was starting to turn blue and lighten up. I layered up this morning with the zip in panel in my riding pants, an extra jacket under my riding jacket with the liner in too, balaclava and neck gaiter, and my winter gauntlets over my Summer riding gloves. Heated seat and grips were on full and I'd added my new lower air deflectors 2 nights ago to help. We'll only see 13 as today's high, but it should be sunny.

Managed to get 4 more 2'x2' patio stones laid and leveled after work yesterday, and was accused of going riding and faking laying the stones. Sixteen more to go by Oct 30th. That's the deadline I was given before she hires a contractor. :geek:

Hope you all have a great day and if you're stoned and being laid, remember to watch your back!

Obo.

Good morning, all, and much obliged for the rich, dark mug of motivation, Ray!

Looks pretty out there this morning; there's a big, bright orb shining in a sky fading from royal to light blue over a salmon and coral sunrise. I really should have taken a pic at the peak of the spectacle. Alas, you'll have to take my word for it. 4°C/39°F now going to 15°C/59°F, with sunshine all day. The rest of the weekend will be warmer, and I have a "flex" day on Monday, so it's a long weekend for me. All of this makes me smile.

And speaking of smiling, the periodontist took my sutures out yesterday, so, to build on Stu's reference, there'll be no more aaaaaaagggh (and I'm not feeling even a little sick). He said he's happy with the way the procedure went, and with how quickly it all closed up. So, onward and upward, until the next torture session. But as a pretty little thing named Scarlett once said, "I'll think about that tomorrow."

Right, gotta make some moves. Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Oh, and yeah...gotta book my flu and Covid shots. Thanks for the reminder, Raymond.

good morning all. thank you Ray for the coffee. 63F on the dog walk with the moon still out big and bright. the stars are kind of washed out from the light of the moon. but they are there along with a cloud or two that made the walk enjoyable.

got gym today. that takes up the morning so I'll wait and see what the afternoon brings. maybe a nap. I'll just have to look into that. our high should only be 77F. Rain? what's that. it's been so long I really can't remember when it last rained and none in the next 10 days. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray.

It's sunny and 44, rising to 63, later.

Yesterday, I managed a gym visit and 4.5 miles with the neighbor's dog. She dragged me along, until about the last 1/2 mile.

Today, we'll be packing for our trip up North to the 24 Hours of Lemons.
Freya will visit with the boarder for the time we're away.
I've also got a nibble on our old electric stove, that looks kind of real, unlike the other 6 or so.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all, and thanks for the coffee Ray!

Looking like another clear blue day here, just some morning frost and fog to clear out. Ride plan got busted yesterday with having to help my daughter pick up a used pottery Kiln, but it was worth it as the lady shared a treasure trove of pottery recipes going back to the 30's that were her mum's. That's a big win in pottery land apparently, so we'll take it.

Planning to hit the road this afternoon once things warm up to 10c. Have a great day all, and stay safe.

Is it Friday yet? Thanks for the coffee Ray ☕️, not much to tell about life in the Magic City. It's just magic, I guess.

But I'm not planning any trips to doctors, for teeth or bones or drugs or jabs. But I may stop shaving my chin for a while, 'cuz it won't be getting warmer here for a while, nor will it be getting any wetter.

I will need to find some tiny plastic tubing for Kaiser's trailer, but tomorrow is my niece's housewarming combined with her husband's birthday, the latter being a few days ago.

Not the same as riding my motorcycles but I'll see what I can do.

And I've never looked good in pink, so no princess costumes are expected for Halloween. This silly day is just a good reason for stocking up on Reeses peanut butter cups, the day after.

Wow! Lucky daughter! I used to throw a lot of clay back in College. Very therapeutic. We had a huge walk-in kiln. If only I'd become an art teacher.
