Ay up, how can I be first. Just spose I am.....I spose. The Dark Italian Roast is ready. Help ya'selves.
Just back from Berwick-upon-the-Tweed, retailers were happy to see me....pffffffftttttt....and I returned with a nice selection of well discounted white wines, lobster claws and jumbo shrimp. Strange terminology for a shrimp, don't ya think.
It's cool but not as cool, we may see 48 and it should be dry'ish, snow lying above 2000 ft.
After coffee I need some sausage, preferably Northumberland. To clarify and for the purposes of reiteration I don't want sausage, I need sausage.
Av a gud un and remember, sausages don't grow on trees.
Upt.

Thx Ray!
I was up eeeearly and drove Mrs Stu to work.
She will be gone the entire weekend, so theoretically I could……
But I’m left with instructions to temove the kitchen fireplace while she’s gone.

But a nice girl wouldn’t tell you what you should do…

10˚c/50f, rain, calm, almost dark all day…..

There’s a beer or two lurking in the fridge for later, but let’s not praise the day until the evening comes.

Have a good and black Friday!

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Ray. 47F on the dog walk with clear sky and a bunch of stars to view along the way with a few Christmas light displays bright enough to be seen from the ISS. today will see me at U.P.S to send some gifts. I'm hoping to get there early as we also need to go grocery shopping to fill out the day.
our high should see 70F. enjoy the day

stay safe

ok who's still full from yesterday? Somebody made this sweet potato concoction with brown sugar, butter, heavy cream and pecans. It was supposed to be a side dish but wow!, you could have put a scoop of cool whip on it and never mind anything else!

Enjoy your black Friday shopping.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian dark roast Ray. Hope your quest for sausage was a success.

It's 39°F and "fair" in Charlottesville, headed for partly sunny and 48. Good weather for the drive back home. As we'll be passing very close to a huge wine retailer, there may be a stop along the way.

We ate ourselves into food comas yesterday and I'm still full this morning so a light breakfast is in order, not more than three wedges of pumpkin cheesecake.

Progress on the uke is slow but discernable. It's only my third day so try not to get impatient with me, will ya? It's going to be a while before I'm proficient enough that I don't sound like a halting, clanking amateur.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Maybe give them a couple sets of really good earplugs.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Ray. Sausages would be nice, but coffee is the first requirement.

Teddy isn’t ready for a walk. He stuck his nose out the door and said “Nope, I’ll hold it” and went back to bed. Can’t blame him, since it’s 32, feels like 20, high of only 44 with some sunshine mixed in.

There’s no way that I’m going into town today, sales or not. I have sufficient amounts of beer and distilled spirits to see me through the weekend, without battling the traffic today.

Monday is my appointment with the sawbones to discuss hip replacement. Hopefully, I’ll be back to riding next spring.

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Ray.

0C here with freezing drizzle. It switched back and forth over the wee hours, after snowing massive flakes for 5 hours. Plows were out all night, plowing, sanding and salting. It's a heavy wet snow all over currently, but the roads were mostly clear this morning other than the slop between lanes. Last evening's drive home from my mom's was atrocious, and you could hardly see the end of the car hood. We didn't get the full 20cm, but it's hard to tell how much we did get. Everything is well coated in white though.

Highs today should be around 4C and cloudy. Almost an Antarctic heatwave!

Hope everyone has a great day. To me, you're all cool.

Obo.

Awesome! Is that an SDS drill? Looks like you could take down a castle!

Goodluck with that, John. Lots of folks have that done.

I think they've got it down to 3 beers now! (not for the doctor though)

Good Morning coffeeers!
Happy Black Friday and best of luck for those venturing out to the malls, and other overly populated areas!
Thanks Raymondo for the Roasted Italian and yeah - sausage sounds pretty darn good.

Yesterday's dinner, as yours, was excellent and I did my best to keep calories under 20K.
My friend and his wife are deeply steeped in family tradition, so many recipes were made "from the old days".
Whoaaaa! Amazing.

Additionally we met new folks in their family and had a great time.
The younger folks (kids, we called them - in their 20's) played games in another room.
The dog sat in the middle of the floor and kinda watched the show.

Tonight is the great bonfire event!
High potential for spirited drinks as well.
Oh yeah!

Y'all have a wonderfilled day!

I didn't expect quite so much interest in my sausage! It's nice though.
My sausage retail experience was acceptable, if not perfect.
6 large juicy Cumberlands and 3 equally large and juicy Northumberlands.
What's the difference I hear you shout? Please don't shout, so rude.
The main difference is you'll get punched in the face if you serve anything other than Northumberlands to Northumbrians, the other difference is that there's lamb in Northumberland Sausage.
Pffffffftttttt.
On another topical subject and a matter of some debate recently, not world wars, famine, destructive weather, dogs, no, bacon bits.
You could have knocked me over with a fevver, sitting resplendent on the chilled shelf was a splendiferous bag of, yes, bacon bits.
I obviously had to have them, I did ask, "are they same as USA bacon bits"? "How should I effin know", was the reply. Nice bloke, always got his chopper in his hand.
I suspect they're not, these are left over uncooked chunks of dry cured pork which never made it into the bacon wrappers.
Upt and content'ish.

G'morning all, and thanks for the caffeine, Ray!

It's brrr. There, I said it. The temp is currently -1°C/30°F with a feels like of -5°C/23°F and it'll climb aaaaaall the way up to 2°C/36°F with a windchill of -2°C/28°F. Still no significant precip to speak of - conditions will be mostly cloudy all day, with snippets of sunshine here and there. We'll get some overnight and early morning flurries though, so there may be flakes falling when we gather at the trailhead at 10 am tomorrow. I'll have to plan my clothing layers well...it's going to be mighty chilly out there.

Everyone have a great day recovering from Food-ma-geddon, if that's what you did yesterday. Stay safe and go safely. And Keith, I hope you're wearing your "Don Ho" shirt during those practice sessions.

Ta ta for now!

Patty

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Ray.

It's sunny and 32, rising to 43 for today's high temp.
We got plenty of rain, yesterday, and we could see the state trucks out salting the roads, on our way home from our son's place.

Yesterday's Thanksgiving was a fun event at our Son and Daughter-in-Law's place.
Our granddaughter kept us all pretty busy, since she's only got one speed...GO!
At 1-1/2, she's running, climbing, talking a bit, and keeping everyone busy.
Brenda and Megan did a bang up job on the turkey and fixings, and we had a great dinner. We almost couldn't stuff any pie down, when the time came.
Almost...
We came home and checked up on our cat, before heading back to the hotel, once she was tucked in.

Today, we're staying away from the Black Friday events that will be going on.
One exception may be to bring the Wing to the dealer for winter storage.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Keith, I hope you're wearing your "Don Ho" shirt during those practice sessions.

Not so much, just yet. I've been practicing in the early morning hours while the rest of the household is still asleep, so I've been in my PJs.

If I ever play in public, though, you can reliably bet on it.

There were three young girls, sisters, aged 6, 4, and about 1 1/2, at yesterday's food orgy. Like your granddaughter they were always on the move. Then I realized that the two older ones, in addition to the sugar high from pre-dinner snacks, were drinking small shots of espresso (!!). No WONDER they couldn't sit still.

Hey Ray, did you get any vegetarian sausages?

@Peppermint Perhaps Keith should be less Don Ho and a bit more Gung Ho?

Both the above are food for thought.
Vegetarian? VEGETARIAN! If I asked my butcher for vegetarian anything I suspect I would get to feel his chopper. That can't be good. Vegetarian?
