By far the best thing you can use is one of the few different sprays designed for defogging hockey visors. If you have any sports shops that sell hockey equipment you should be able to find some bottles of it.

Padden is my hero
The 1100 with the lever switched only opens maybe an 1/8" at the most, only on one side. Even with it cracked, vent open (always) it still fogs. Keep in mind this is when it's really cold out.
I do love my Shoei, don't get me wrong.

I know what you mean, I have experienced the only one side thing too, I was a little disappointed as every other Shoei I had the visor cracked open evenly on both sides and about 1/4". My RF 900 was like that and it was great.
On my RF1000 I find I have to reach up and pull the other side open slightly to match the open side.
Once I do that no problem.
I am going to buy a new Shoei Neotec which I hope will be better.
