Maybe? The Italian Dark Roast is ready and the Brioche is too. It's particularly good with lemon curd.
Help ya'selves.
The weather, it's a bit foggy and chilly, cold enough for ice but not Canadian ice. It should stay dry enough.
I was out all the daylight hours yesterday enjoying the sun and catching up with gardening and DIY chores. It was pleasant in the sun but a little brrrrrrrr'ish in the shade. The decking oil didn't seem to mind the cold too much. Before you get any ideas I didn't use it on decking. Anyone living this far north in dear old blighty would be nuts to have such a garden floor type.
As for the next 6 hours of daylight, who knows, but it'll be some'at or t'other.
Av a gud un and remember, I'm sure something happens tomorrow. Pffffffftttttt.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the SUNDAY coffee, Ray. Perhaps my multi-day temporal confusion has abated, as I definitely didn't wake up thinking today was Monday, although yesterday still felt like Sunday to me.

It's 34°F, cloudy, and dampish (at least the pavement is; there's no sign of active precipitation at the moment) in Rockville. Rain and sn**, errr sn** ummmm... that nasty frozen white crap that falls from the sky in the winter are expected to begin somewhere around 0900. We've even got a winter weather advisory to tell us to be sane and sensible and not go out if we don't have to, in effect from 0700 to 1900 hours. The high will be was 36, and the temperature will drop like a Detroit Lions fan's Super Bowl aspirations as the day goes on, bottoming out at around 17 in the wee hours of tomorrow morning.

We had a very enjoyable day with our friends yesterday as our clothes gradually dried got less wet in their heated garage. They weren't fully dried by the time we left, so they got hung in our carport overnight with a fan blowing on them to encourage further desiccation. The lighter-weight items are dry enough to bring in, but the bulkier ones need a bit more time. I'll have to bring them in before too much longer, though, as I'll need to take down the temporary drying line I strung up last night so as to be able to bring Mrs. Fun's car back into the shelter of the carport before the winter storm arrives. The rest of the drying process can, I think, be conducted safely enough indoors. Or at least I want to believe that, there being no other option that I can see.

There will be miscellaneous and sundry other activities to fill the day, I'm confident. I just dunno quite what they'll be, yet.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear pones you love them.

good morning all. and a thank you to Ray for the coffee. 38F on the dog walk with a clear sky, some stars and a bright moon to enjoy as I walked. wife is headed up north for dog training. I think I'll set this one out and just work on nothing. if there is such a thing as working on nothing. the high should be 61F and clear with a small breeze. the weather will be nice for doing nothing. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning all and Ray, thanks for the coffee.
About 30F and clear skies here in the north of New Hampshire now, possibility hitting 32F at noon. There is an inch-ish of fresh snow from overnight covering everything. Later this afternoon the skies should cloud in, the temperature drop a bit and another inch or so of that snow stuff should appear. By evening the temperature will start plummeting like my expectations at a used car dealer and by tomorrow morning the magical "they" expect up to 5 inches of snow to have accumulated. Temps for the remainder of the week will be middle teens during the day and negative at night. Any tasks that will be accomplished will be in the house!
Today will entail inventory of the freezer to determine what my dinner menu will be for the next few days. I suspect a fair amount of chicken will be served. I sense the need for a beef roast to be acquired soon.

Be safe, be careful and for those near me... Bundle Up!

Scott

Good morning all!
Thanks for the hot start Ray!

It’s nice to be back in our own bed!

I acquired another pedal bike yesterday, a freebie!
It will require tires & various other bits but the bones are all there. It may help me get some exercise that’s badly needed. The electric Buzz bikes we have will be sold, as I just didn’t feel they were what I needed.

73/83F with a breezy SW wind!
I’ll leave you with this.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffe start, Ray.

It's 34 and sunny, becoming cloudy as the temperature rises to 40, later.
After that, it'll cloud up, and we expect snow, starting around 6:00pm.
Weather Underground predicts 1", while the TV weather places us in the 5-10" zone. Maybe they have different timelines.

Yesterday, I went across the fence and borrowed the neighbor's dog for a walk that we both needed. We managed 4.5 miles, while the neighbors left for the weekend. One of them texted me that they have a pet sitter visiting, so I when I brought the dog back, I entered through the garage. It took me a few tries to get the garage code to work, so when the pet sitter arrived and couldn't get in, I brought over a handful of AA batteries for the keypad. Success!

Brenda and I managed to unpack most of the kitchen, and still had a pile of items that won't fit or we don't want, even after purging things as we packed, 4 months ago. We were trying to remember the last time we used the George Foreman grill or rice cooker... Off to the Re-Store, but found them closed. I'll temporarily put it all in the shed, so Brenda can load laundry.
We went to our favorite BBQ place in Blackstone, and stopped at the grocery store for a few items on the way home.

Today, Brenda will visit the laundromat, again, while I do something or other. Maybe another walk, before the snow.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

38/3 here in SoMD when the dog's bladders woke me up. They're calling for rain/snow mix later...pffft we'll see. I really couldn't care less. Of course, the wife is all paranoid since she'd have to drive make me drive in it tonight. *sigh*

Got the generator running again and puts out power. Does have a stumble with the choke fully off...might need a new carb gasket it didn't look great but was functional for test purposes. Today's events entail a little cleanup, some more tinkering in the office, then maybe watch some (American) football. Take care y'all!

Mornin’ y’all, from the frigid south. Thanks, Ray.

It’s 23, with a dusting of snow. That’s also the high for today. Wind chill is approaching zero, at times. Did I mention it was gusting to 26 MPH? The next two days are worse.

Got to do some shopping today, as I seem to be completely out of a couple of essential items.

Never mind.... I was writing this wonderful post, but decided to save you all from it.
I'll defer you to Sadlsor's upcoming post.
:)
Hmmm. No pressure here, eh?
Prepare to be disappointed, I guess.
No pending rants, no rage against the universe, no (known) illness, malaise or life-altering upheaval that I can think of.
Weather? Meh. Temps starting cold, and decreasing throughout the day, with the wintery-ness noted previously expected here in the Deep South in the upcoming hours / days.
I've prepared firewood, kindling, and other appropriate wooden burnable materials just outside the kitchen door, for just a short tote to the den fireplace in anticipation of the sub-freezing conditions mentioned just now.
Thanks to Ray for the emphatic exclamation point (?) on the day of the week, as well as the coffee. My biorythms are still trying to settle down after yesterday's calendar debacle.
And since I have no prepared inspiration for y'all this morning, much less any self-induced jocularity, I'll steal one from another notable quotable that I've never heard of, or at least don't remember, and probably don't care. Nevertheless, after this lengthy windup, here's the pitch, maybe more appropriate to those (if any) who prefer clear liquors...
I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade. And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and brioche, Ray!

It's been snowing very lightly this morning, but it now seems to be clearing and we're supposed to get a mix of sun and clouds for the rest of the day. As predicted, the mercury is now beginning to drop after yesterday's "balmy" conditions. Today's temps will hover around -10°C/14°F with a windchill of -16°C/3°F, and things will get increasingly brrrr as the week progresses.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

@Sadlsor, I think Ron White might be one of the group of Southern-based comedians that also includes Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. They styled themselves the "Blue-Collar Comedians", with humor drawn from and aimed at everyday life rather than arty highbrow concoctions.

As you yourself hail from that region, I'm somewhat surprised that a Yankee such as myself, who has little or no connection to or affinity for, much of modern "pop culture", recognizes the name where you don't. Or maybe your morning coffee just hadn't kicked in yet.

For the life of me I can't think of who it is but my mind is screaming at me that there was a fourth member of that group; they often toured together and did TV (cable) specials together from time to time, 10-20 years ago.

On re-reading your post, I'm wondering if I might've misinterpreted you. Were you saying you didn't recognize the name Ron White, or just not that particular quote?

Just turned afternoon here in Newfoundland, so late to morning coffee but I am sure the pot has been refilled.
Just at freezing point early but going up to at least 6C/42.8F this afternoon with a mix of sun and cloud. We'll lose a great deal of the little snow I have in the yard. Could be another day of high (?) temps with rain before we head into the cold and more snow. It's been a mild winter so far.

Time to work on the summer plans.

Morning all! The sun is just starting to peek out above the horizon. It's 0C with a predicted high of 6C. We'll see.....

Keith, the fourth member was Bill Engvall. The back and forth between all four was my favourite part of their tours.

Not sure what I'll get up to today. Yesterday was a trip to the dump with a load of garden material including holly/ivy which meant I had to unload at the bins by hand as opposed to the garden waste section as they are considered invasive species and won't get ground up into mulch or whatever. So that was a messy time consuming business as they only let you back to within 4 feet of the bin. Ah well, good exercise.

Hope everyone has a great holly day!

Morning Ray & All from mixed Sun & clouds, and COLD, in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 15F, up from 5F and heading for 40F. No breeze yet, but later we'll see the winds from the NNW @ 7 to 9mph.

Chris is still in Northern Utah, she should be home this afternoon, but for me, I have to be at church at noon, so there's no time to get into any trouble. I spent most of the day yesterday playing with my new SENA 50Ss and learning how they work and setting them up for what I need.

I also got a call from #2 son. Him and his GF will be in Las Vegas next weekend, so we'll pick them up at the airport on Friday and then after we all get checked into our hotels (I couldn't afford to stay at the same one they are at), we'll spend the evening together and probably have breakfast together before Chris and I head back home on Saturday.

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) will be had this afternoon.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
