Well Good Morning and welcome to today's pot o' hot!
This one is sure to motivate you!
Contributions today from Hank's Biscuits and Breakfast called "Hot and Bothered".
He says it's a medium roast "But not for sissies"!

Whew- Blew leaves off the farm yesterday and mowed the newly grown grass.
I hadn't mowed with a walk-behind in a long time.
Grass is a-growin' just fine but I've gotta keep the squirrels from digging looking for who-knows-what.

34 Heits in the air this morning which makes it a might chilly.
Good thing, I did that outdoor work yesterday. It was a bit warmer.
I haven't seen any snow in the forecast for this part of NC.
Don't want none either!

Getting the RTV ready for the Christmas parade on Saturday - should be excellent weather.

Here's some of Hank's work on the table for youse!

Y'all have a winderfilled day!

good morning all. thanks for the coffee and treats Nick. 48F on the dog walk with an overcast sky so the stars had to pop though openings here and there to be seen. still as always I enjoyed the walk. # 1 dog is 14 years old so she walks a little slower an sniffs a little longer but that ok, she earned it.
wife will be up to dog training this morning so that will leave me unsupervised.
the high for today should see 78F. might have to take a ride. enjoy the day

be safe

Good morning and thx Nick!

I was up early to finish the project in the kitchen, and to tidy up a bit.
Picking up Mrs Stu at a bus terminal later.
Then dinner with Mrs Stus parents and brothers at a restaurant.
There’s probably a pfffffft or two waiting to happen.

10˚c/50f, 30mph wind from south, rain.

Have a good one!
Stu

G'Day...

-5°C, fog, everything is crusted with ice-crystals, ghastly weather...

By the time I'd consumed my big mug of blood thinners while scrolling through the news the sun came out...
Now (close to noon) we've +2°C and most of the omnipresent icing has melted...

There isn't any denying that "the Season" is near...
The radio and TV stations alike annoy with Xmas songs and "mega sale" advertisements 24/7... ...
So does all the junk-mail you get: pamphlets and catalogues full of "special short time offer" and "buy me, now!"... pffff...
Newsfeed is full of Xmas Markets here and there... reports of the crimes there in the very next column, vandalism, theft, brawls, stabbings...
In between the authorities announce security concerns and suggest to avoid large crowds over being "possible targets"...
Me, I wonder what this nation, the whole continent have come to...

Ze GF is squirreling away presents for da family in her basement, just helped her carrying a big, heavy box containing a steel-frame desk dedicated for her grand-kid...
the little brat got enlisted to elementary school this fall, and from what I sense is she quite a hand full, keeping teachers on their toes at all times ;)

stay safe out there

Good morning everyone

Thanks for yet another creative pot of mud, Nick.

The Google weather gadget (I'm broadcasting today from in front of the gas fireplace in the Man Cave o' Fun instead of our home office, so I'm using my phone instead of a real computer) says it's 23°F in Rockville and partly cloudy. 43 is the predicted high, with more clouds than sun.

Mrs. Fun will have people over today to wrap stuff for next weekend's raffle. I will vanish discreetly into the basement, after greeting people and having second breakfast.

Mulan the cat may not move, if I leave the fire going. She seems quite content, just outside the range where she'd spontaneously ignite.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Snow has got me surrounded but nothing in my immediate area. Just 30 miles east of me they say
there is 24" on the ground, we're due for sure if the air currents start to be north to south instead of west to east.

hugs baby!

Morning all and thanks for the anti-wuss juice, Nick.

-6C here this morning but clear. We'll see a sunny 3C as the high.

As said above, the season is over. I boxed up the Mrs & my helmet yesterday and put them in the closet. I put mine on top, just in case we have a speldiferous day, or a cold one to "safely" help advance my current status in the Paulcb Memorial coldest ride game.

Got the garage somewhat cleaned yesterday. There's now more of the workbenches showing than covered, and some of the offending stuff actually made it into the trash. Some though made it into bins because hey, it's too good to toss out. It will become a Spring/Summer task to go thru, along with the other mixed bins I did the same with last year... and the year before that... and, well you get the idea right?

Hope everyone's had an excellent weekend so far, and that it only gets better.

Obo.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Nick.

It's 24 and partly cloudy in MA this morning, rising to 35, later.

Yesterday was "Bring the Wing to Storage" day, and that's where it went. Not before I visited a self-wash, to clean it up a bit.
Afterwards, I went for a walk, without our neighbor's dog. She would have enjoyed the "Outback". I knocked on their door to see if I could take her, but the house/pet sitter had just left. Brenda said that she came back a few minutes after I continued on. Maybe today.

I'm waiting for Brenda to arrive, and then we'll head on out to Carl's Oxford Restaurant for breakfast. We'll probably have enough left over for breakfast, tomorrow.
Today is also laundry day, and if I don't take a walk while Brenda is at the laundromat, I'll clean up the beach that Freya is making with her kitty litter.

Enjoy your day,
Steve

Good morning, all, and thanks for the high-octane coffee and nom-noms, Nick!

It's grey, cloudy and cold out there, and it's going to snow, but not until later. The white stuff should start falling around two, and will keep falling well into this evening, if the Weather Network is to be believed. So a few of us silly fools are getting together for a "quick" hike before the flakes fly. I believe (hope) I'm appropriately layered as the current temp is -1°C/30°F and the high will only be 0°C/32°F, with respective windchills of -7°/19°F and -5°C//23°F. The trails are mostly in the woods, so hopefully, that will cut the wind a bit. Today's hike will be a bit shorter at 7-8 km, so I'll be back home, making meatballs and homemade marinara sauce by the time winter descends.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe, stay warm and go safely.

Patty

Thanks Nick for the non-sissy coffee. I need something to get me jump started this AM.

Currently 26F here, heading towards 32F and partly cloudy. The guess is 16F for tonight's pleasure.

Oh what a STart this morning... my Keruig is on a dark corner of the counter and when I went to add water ... it took a second to realize I had forgotten to take the cover off. Apparently you shouldn't try to make coffee without having already had some to wake up enough to do it correctly!

Thanksgiving day we had a few inches of snow so instead of mounting the snowblower to the tractor I decided to use the bucket. I installed some slides on the cutting edge (think short, wide runners that clamp like a "C" clamp) that are intended to keep it from doing actual digging up the driveway and went to work. After a little learning curve the job went well. However, I hooked one of the slides into an embankment and twisted it, bending the bolt that clamps it on. Since the slides are from an unknown Amazon supplier, the research I have done seems to indicate the bolts are M12-1.75 x 101-ish mm, made from the lowest grade steel there is (4.8). So far, NOBODY in my area has that size bolt! A project for later this week will be to drill out those threads and use a 1/2 inch bolt that I can get anywhere.

I wonder if I can do laundry today without messing something up?

Oh well, "pffffttt" to worry and I will go dive into today!

Be safe, be careful and try not to get tangled in all that Christmas ribbon floating around!

Scott

I slept long enough for the outside ambient degree counter to reach 35 before venturing out. Thanks for the brew, Nick, but you've conditioned me to be somewhat skeptical of your hot- in- the- pot mysteries, because your description reminds me of some old parlor games. Like, "can you guess what THIS is?"

Yesterday was a good time at the Iron Bowl party at Tom and Beth's, and one of their grown sons returned, and other neighborhood guests dropped by. Reminded me of Keith's shindigs, and there was even a nice fire ring with blazing logs.

And despite Alabama throwing an interception and coughing up two fumbles, Auburn couldn't capitalize on the turnovers and we won 28-14. Good enough for me, even though our playoff chances are slim, with three losses on the season. But that's the way the cookie crumbles.

For most of the ride down to Montgomery, I was reminded of parents taking long car rides with small children in the back seat. Y'all remember, right? "Mommy! Tell Billy to stop touching me!" Every few minutes, Roz was doing that. "Ewwww. The dog put his wet nose on me. Kaiser, stop it!" I had put a small clean shop towel on the dashboard for just that reason, because I know she hates it.

After a 2hr car ride, Kaiser was ready for some exercise, so I said Hi to everyone, dropped Roz off in their care, and we went to chase the Frisbee. Well, I only threw it, and he did all the chasing. Plenty of room for him to run off some energy.

I took a picture that I call "we need to practice our recall", because after 2 semi-successful Frisbee fetches in a large open grassy area on the community property, Kaiser realized we hadn't been in a river or a stream all year, and it was time to wash the dirty dog toy. He headed for the pond and wouldn't come back to me until he was belly deep in it.

Running and jumping in the water until he made the bank a muddy mess, he finally came out. But I had to retrieve the Frisbee, while he must have thought it needed to soak a little longer. But it was a warm enough afternoon while the sun was out, so we went back to Tom's house where I secured Kaiser to a tree in the field next to the house.

After another walk at the end of the game, we were ready to head home. Kaiser was calm all the way home.

Good morning, all. Thanks for the cup, Nick.

Like @Sadlsor , I slept in until the frost had lifted from the lawn. After a low of 27, we’ll see a sunny high of 45. Snow tomorrow.

With all of the weekend sales going on, I wonder how much more would sell if Black Friday was held in more favorable weather.

I need to get started on finishing up everything that I didn’t have planned for yesterday.

Tip for @ibike2havefun . Tie a string on the cat’s tail. If he starts smoking, you can pull him back, without getting out of your chair.

It's a slow Sunday, just starting my second cup o Joe, thanks! Plenty cold for the first day in December here in SoMD. No snow hitting the ground here but did see some virga on radar and wisping down from the clouds. We usually don't get snow until late Dec...is this a sign of things to come?

More inside stuff to do. Really need to fix those car brakes but it's cold...working on cold steel is painful. And I said to myself I would decorate more for the holidays this year...same problem. December is not starting out well, ugh.

Gonna need something stronger in this coffee today. Take care y'all!

If she starts smoking, she'll probably start drinking and chasing loose tomcats as well. I don't even want to think about the tattoos...
