maybe from o-ring seal? can we replace the o-ring seal without break the engine?
any advice appreciated!

Doubtful that's what's leaking.

More likely something higher up and the airflow is making it look like it's leaking there. I'd pull the fairing and do some more checking.

noo, when engine is on, i see oil flow from upper balancer shaft

From the info in the manual, I would say that replacement of the 'O' ring would necessitate removal of the balancing shaft which would require the crankcase being split...

Big job....!

Worst case: needle bearing failing, allowing the shaft to jive, wearing out named O-ring?
i think the O-ring is worn out and when I rotating the upper balancer the o-ring snapped or somethingg

Well, that's a new one... Have you tightened it?

If that's the case I'd tend to cean the area and put some black RTV sealant around it... assuming that would work..

From the spare fiche its unclear if there is a chance to remove the old O-ring with a dental pick once the clamp is removed...

Depending on a bunch of things (age of bike, how much you paid, how many kms on it, etc) if in fact it is leaking from the shaft, it may be best to just periodically clean the area and keep a careful eye on your oil level. If you have to split the engine case to repair it, it may well cost almost as much as the bike is worth.

The area looks quite "oily". Was it like that before adjustment? Any chance it could have been leaking before the adjustment as well?

Looks like you don't need to pull the shaft out much (5-10mm?) to get to the 'O' ring but you def have to pull it out....

The question is: can you pull it out far enough to change the 'O' ring without washer B falling off the other end of the shaft into the 'gubbins'.....

Anyone had experience with this? Might be okay, might not!!!

Just a guess but if you pull the shaft out just enough to replace the o ring nothing may fall apart. Looks like there is abit 3/4 of an inch that the other end of the shaft goes into the case so just might be able to slip it up just enough to change the o ring with out pulling the shaft out. Would help if you could lay the bike on it's side.

My thoughts, too, but 'MAY' is the operative word in the above quote.... :)

I guess depends on how bad the leak is and how lucky you feel.... I think the 'WCP' is your best bet, @parahita_wicky ...

May not hurt to call the WCP.
Maybe we shall find out if there is anything Larry has not yet done on these 1300s?
Really? You'll have to come up with something better than that.
Yes, the o-ring can be replaced, you can pull it out far enough to use a dental pick and pull it out of the groove.
You just don't want to try and remove the whole shaft or you risk loosing your adjustment, and you don't want stuff falling around inside the engine :rofl1:
The distance from the face of the crankcase to the centreline of the o ring is only 8mm so you will only need to ease the shaft out by about 11mm to get access to the o ring, this means that the other end of the shaft will still be in the crankcase.
Going by memory, and they say that is the first thing to go, so proceed at your own risk.
The dealerships also tell you that you must pull the entire engine to change the clutch slave cylinder as well. ;)
