Catching Odometer Numbers while Riding

I look forward to this.....
It might be a tight race.

The 120 I just did were done at 26 degrees with 40mph wind gusts. If I have to ride like that very often, I'll give in! Hopefully that won't be the norm for the next 10K miles.

Let's hope for warmer weather for you...I wouldn't want to hear the weather got in our way of this...;)

Hey Bob....

No pressure.

Well, Karen, it looks like your going to get me! Although I have two opportunities to put over 2K miles on my bike over the next couple of weeks, it's not going to happen. Due to being Mr. Nice guy for my wife. We are heading up to the Ole Gold Country (East of Sacramento) this week, but I have to trailer the bike up because of Chris & the following week, there is a family gathering in the same general area, but since I was informed I can't go, unless I take Chris, and we really can't afford the gas (two trips in two weeks), I won't be going to that gathering.:eek:4:

So I'm at 147.7 right now and no way to catch you.

here's mine.

Ed, I think someone needs to right his bike...I know, you got so excited that you dropped your bike just before taking the picture!

Unbelievable! :hat4:

Just missed "55555". Noted it and then...I was at work! DOH! Forgot to stop and snap a pic...

Bob, I won't celebrate yet, I still have a few miles to go and a 20 year old bike that has been known to occasionally have a mechanical problem or two. (She went down for repairs 3x in these 10K miles!) But the secret to that photo is that I took it in PA over 400 miles from home. I only have 550 miles left to go!

So what's the prize for winning this? An old bike with so many miles on it that it's worthless? Ohhhh wait, we each have one!

I'll come up with something!...;-)

I hit 200,000 last year and was supprised to see my odometer went back to zero, got to start all over again

LOL

I have this overwhelming urge to sing "99 bottles of beer on the Wall"

Yep, in less than 52,000 miles, I'll have a new bike too! :D

Never mind, I drank it... (and apparently sped up too!)

:woo:clap2: nice work - my poor odometer is still below 60,000..... kms!!! I intend to start working on that in a week or so...

I just noticed that the Yank speedometers have speeds indicated at 5mph intervals e.g. 15, 25, 35, 45 etc - not noticed that before, looks unusual since I am used to the numbers ending in 0!!

The white numbers end in 5, those are mph, there is also a set of red numbers that end in "0" that are km/h.

Yeah we had similar in the UK - except the mph numbers ended in 0 - so 20, 30, 40mph and so on. Same with the little kmh numbers. UK speed limits are all multiples of 10.

Here in Oz it's just kmh (no mph), again they end in 0.

Karen, it is not in the mail yet... need to find the glue...seems my son had it last!
