Cardo Packtalk Bold charging issues

I have one unit that has an intermittent issue with the charging port. I have purchased replacement ports for $1.30/ piece CDN. I’ve got it apart and ready to do the swap, however, on further research it appears that having a “Hot Air Solder rework station” is the best tool to execute this procedure.
Before I commit to buying said unit, I shall go to my neighbourhood electronics repair shop that specializes in doing the swap. Since I already have it apart and have the part, I’m hoping it will be a cheap repair,

The mini USB for my UClear communicator was similar in that it was a narrower fit. When I used some non OEM cords I'd have to trim plastic off them to get them to fit. I have several all hacked up to charge them.
