Camp Chair Ideas please

A simple solution might be to pack your drybag on the bottom and the chair on top, this might eliminate the line of sight issue with your mirrors. Another would be to get a rack for your top box and put the likely lightweight chair there where it will probably be high enough to be out of the way.

I use one similar to this based on the REI flexlite.

I don't always use the chair so it's nice that it's a very little packing concern vs a larger chair. Amazon has million of these in various configurations.

I found a double set for $30 shipped on Amazon. I picked it up for when the wife and I ride. I dislike how low they sit.

+1 on Kermit Chair. Still using the same Kermit chair I bought 13 years ago.

I have a pico chair, really like it but my issue with it is that the hard parts of it will sit on the passenger grab rails on the bike and eventually wear off the paint... If I used a chair all the time and it was high on my list of important items, the pico would also be high on that list, it's like sitting in a real chair. But, I only sparingly use a chair as a typical campground bench is ok with me.. so the packing convenience of the smaller ones works for me.

I have one of the Amazon camp chairs that are featured on this thread and really like it. The major issue is that the legs can easily sink into soft ground. Consider ordering one of these. "Sand Cover" it sells for around $20 and can easily be folded into the chair bag. I made my own.
This will is good in beach sand, snow, and mud or soft ground.

Good tip, they pack small into the bags and are currently even on sale...

Call me crazy, but I've used this one for 5 years now. I bought it back when walmart first introduced them for $14.98.

I weigh about 240, and I'm 6 ft 3. While I do find myself sometimes wanting some neck support, it fits inside any compartment of my luggage with ease. I usually just get close to a tree and its fine for my neck. Just make sure you're fairly level!

STrider has a good plan with the higher mirrors - I did that same option on my 1300 and it works fine with the stock windshield but not with the VStream windshield.

I may switch back to the stock shield so I can have the higher mirrors again.

If you like and want the Kermit chair- get the Kermit chair and leg extensions- life is too short to be a cheap skate . I love mine

Anyone know of a camping chair the height of a director's chair that will still collapse small enough to pack?

I can't get out of a typical camping chair without rolling onto my knees and pulling myself up on something.

Between my Kermit with leg extensions and my Pico, I prefer the Pico because of ease of setup and because it's rigid rectangular frame serves as a great rear seat base for my dry bags. I do however, have the pillion with the RDL enlargement.
