looking to downsize as the ST1300 is getting a bit too big for me in its weight. I still love it and all that power/nimble it has but its getting too difficult to move around. i was pondering a cruiser as they are low and usually lighter, found out real quick my body doesn't like that sitting position. my next test ride this coming weekend will be NC750X, Nx500 or maybe the TRANSALP 750. Eventually trying out a Versys . im finding many pros and cons on all of those and i only really do commuting to work and solo enjoying a spirited ride. typical speeds are 70-80 mph for about 45min in St louis traffic.

Yes, @dduelin, @the Ferret, and I have NC750x DCT's. I think The Ferret has around 40k miles on his, Dave has more than I could count, and I've got less than 2000 and only one summer on the bike. I've found the bike to be fine at 70 to 80 mph, and the DCT is a real hoot - the bike still reminds me of a Vespa I rented in Italy many years ago. I made the switch from a VStrom, which is very top heavy and huge in feeling compared to the NC. Try it, you'll like it!

I own a 2013 NC700X, and love it. VERY nimble, powerful enough, and easy to work on. I have a manual version, prefer the simplicity.

I owned a DCT version to commute to work on for a couple of years, while keeping an ST for touring. I am 6'2 too, NC is great for for that purpose, especially in dense traffic. Filtering isn't a problem if fitted with Touratech flippable mirrors. DCT, louder end can & Shad seat makes life so much easier too, while fuel economy is stunning. My issue was buffeting and shaky front suspension, spent a fortune on suspension tuning and various windscreens. Then realised that I can't replicate ST's ride quality on a lightweight bike. Sold both hoping a VFR1200F would give me the best of both worlds. While commuting was great of a VFR, my wife categorically refused to tour on it. So, I am back on an ST, but no longer commuting.
