Anyone? Progressive insurance Snapshot for bikes?

As others have written the app or dongle can't tell if you're braking hard due to someone else's errors you are trying to avoid, if a critter jumped out in front of you, or if you weren't paying attention and misjudged something and are being a bad driver. It just shows it as a hard brake and the deceleration amount over a time frame.

I believe the SF app takes a long view of driving behaviors and accepts that there are a certain number of defensive actions that are out of the driver's control that a driver must take over time/miles. It's not a three strikes and you are out type of thing. If it was I would have lost my discount long ago. It gives a running score over time and if I see my score is affected because I'm speeding too often, or braking too hard too many times per mile, or cornering too quickly it's up to me to change the behavior or lose the discount at the next renewal.

I receive the letter as well. I take issue with the insurance companies tracking me/my family. its none of their business where or how I drive. we have not proven reckless or dangerous by the lack of claims over our collective driving history. I asked state farm what they did with the info and if it tracked where the car went and she skated around the question. I have complained for many a year about the lack of transparency on what thy use to figure rates. my oldest got hammered on rates for his prius, I questioned that and was told that there have been rising repair costs in cali from all the Prius wrecks's out there... what???

And wait until they sell the GPS data to a map company and your favorite twisty road becomes a disaster...….ff
