ABS Ring Bolts

I've just had mny wheels painted on my 98 St1100 with ABS/TCS and have gone to refit the ABS reluctor rings but the heads on the torx bolts are badly corroded and a few are getting chewed up. I don't want to risk refitting these and wanted some replacements.

The Honda dealer wants nearly 3GBP per bolt and I'm thinking there's got to be an alternative.

I've looked at the part diagram and it's called bolt torx 5x14, am I right in thinking this is an M5 bolt with a 0.8 thread? as I reckon I can get 10 socket head cap screw for the price of one from the stealer!

That sounds correct.

Metric coarse thread bolts do not specify the pitch, where as metric fine thread bolts do specify the pitch (example: M5x0.5, is a bolt with a diameter of 5mm, and a thread pitch of 0.5mm, thus a fine thread bolt).

At $4.75 each, I imagine something like this $0.30 button head bolt from McMaster-Carr would be a reasonable substitution; Stainless PN: 92095A21.
 
I just got done painting the front wheel and forks on my 98 !

Thanks ! Yes, I thought so! Amazing the cost that OEM bits have whne you consider that they're pretty much available off the shelf and in stainless as well!

We don't have McMasters in the UK but I've just reserved a pack of 50 button head A2 stainless from Screwfix for about the same price as a single hondas one. Even if they aren't suitable for this they'll come in handy for some other job!!!
 
I used duplicolor GM Storm Gray Metallic for the wheel and forks and VHT caliper paint for the gold on the disks and the silver on the ABS ring.
