About time Café 01/27

Thx Ray!

25˚c/77f, sunny, a gentle breeze…..

There’s probably a crisis somewhere, but it all has to wait a couple of weeks.

Swimming, eating, swimming, drinking beer (all day…no, not really, I’m chief executive security manager for Peter, but not in the evening.)

Have good one!

Chief Executive Security Manager. Wow, that's one hell of a promotion from General Dogsbody. What's the pay like......NO, keep it to yourself the taxman might be checking in.
You lot be careful out there too, you Norwegians aren't used to sun and warmth, the latest advice to combat the temps is to drink your own bodyweight in beer nightly. You'll obviously need to go to bed in a nappy, just in case.
Enjoy, Stoo and all the Stoo'ers, av a gud un, it's beer o'clock.
Upt.

Enjoy your time in the sun!

Hi everyone

Thanks for the Italian roast Ray. @STooRay enjoy your moment in the sun!

We continue working our way up the Mekong. Today's itinerary included a shore stop at a village of about 700 souls. Subsistence farming and fishing are the dominant occupations. It's neither a wealthy nor an easy place to live. But one enterprising woman produces local spirit; it was better than paint stripper but the Scots and Irish need not fear for competition.

We number 23 guests, a mix of Brits, Aussies, and Americans with two each from Portugal and Canada, served by about a dozen crew. It's a congenial bunch and we're enjoying the company.

The Mekong receives enormous volumes of sand and rock from the surrounding hills, and transports them in the annual monsoon floods. At the dry season such as now, a main industry is retrieving material for use in construction, and also sluicing for gold.

Tomorrow we'll pass one of the new dams, a topic of much discussion and not entirely free of controversy.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good evening,8:15 pm spent some time in the shop this evening, tried pulling headlight assembly out looked like a it might come out rearward ,big nope. So plan B, cut tabs off H4 lamps from Mazda 2 which got LED's , bought them for the bike originally but wasn't about to void warranty to fit them in bike, so into car instead,55w/60w much better. Cheers G
