A little 40$ mod I did

SMSW... good observations, thanks. Tempted to try his idea. My other ride is a 1995 Gold Wing... very comfortable highway pegs that I use often. Really miss that on the ST.

It should not scrape at all. I have a 32 inseam and it let's me stretch out nice! And I did have to add a spacer

I like the look of the pegs but can say as much for the OP's riding apparel. (And YES, that was a joke.)

It doesn't look like much of a stretch but it gets the feet out from under the 'seat' and I like that much better than the semi-crotch rocket positioning. The GoldWing pegs I substituted for STock helped a little but this looks worth trying though a few buck more than when Lukesdad posted. A follow up report and a pic or two of the mount position would be appreciated.

Sorry it took me a minute to answer I use them on long trips as it gives my legs a different position. I have dropped the bike 1 time in my driveway sidestand not all the way down, didn't hurt the peg at all other than a small scuff. They are well worth the investment and look good on the bike

Lukesdad, just received the pegs and looking forward to installation. Any suggestions on cutting the black abs plastic covers?
Thanks

I just had to lengthen and widen the bottom vent

OK, tried a mock up and the clamp on the pegs is a little bigger than where they would mount on the frame ---- how did you fill that gap or tighten the clamp?
Thanks

Simple and easy.... I like it. I am thinking about changing up the pegs... I may try this.
Last time I rode more than 500 miles at a time, it was on my VFR. I just got back from two 500-mile days in a three-day weekend, and my knees were unhappy at the end of the second day of the ST1300. I can't imagine how much worse I'd feel on the VFR!

My knees were unhappy with the last few hundred miles of the Sacramento-to-Seattle express run this weekend. Knees are fine today -- I just can't keep 'em bent that much under me for that long these days. This suggests that extended miles on my VFRs will be even less comfortable. Getting old sucks, but it is better than the alternative, I guess, and if knee pain only shows up on more-than-a-tankful runs, I may be able to abide with that. Maybe that's the beauty of a Harley 1.8g peanut tank! :D

All that motivated me to remember this thread... I ordered a couple of kits off Bezos' Emporium of Everything, and will report back with information on fitment. The clamp-on pegs I have selected have discrete clamp, extension, and peg sections, with some level of pivot/rotation available in each junction (plus rotation available where they meet the tip-over bar). I am interested to see if these various degrees of freedom allow a clean install and improved function.

I had this problem on the 1100 but not the 1300. Strange.
I installed a set of MCL blades on the 1100. Next trip, I noticed my knees were still too bent for any relief so I stretched my legs out and rested my boots on the front end of the blades. Success!
I think the OP's use of aftermarket pegs would have worked out better and a bit cheaper for me.

Anyone purchase these with good success? I think pegs at that position on my 1300 would benefit me also.

Any good pictures of the mounting placement?

Thanks

I also am needing a set of highway pegs. My legs/knees are not happy after about an hour or two of riding the ST. Any update on the pegs you ordered for those of us interested in an extra set of pegs.

Yup. Finished today. The key dimensions is to work with 1" clamps, or to have shims take up 1/8" space inside standard 1.25" clamps (pretty standard for Harley folk).

I'll work on a thread. It ain't rocket science, but I have some pics...

Do you think any of these would mount farther up? close to the end of the cover? I can put my ankle past the cover. To bad the cover isnt flatter on top, that would be perfect.
