The paint store I use has one of these and I have used them to sometimes good effects, most times not. Fading paint gets so complicated. It matters whether the candy has faded or the clear clouded or the metal flake has oxidized. sometimes a touch of white will wash it enough or will make it just pukey colored. Then when the clear is sprayed on it changes again.
As a hobbyist I do not have the experience with mixing paint that the autobody suppliers have and some are backing out of paint matching because of having to eat the cost of tinting to match when it doesn't work.
So all my painting is as close as I can get, but I consider it a custom color paint job.
I tried matching the paint on my 2015 Concours Green, black primer did one thing, gray another, 2 coats of green went too dark and one was too much. The green with a touch of blue candy got close but the gold metal flake went in a different direction.
I did not use Colorite 'cause I am too cheap, the things that I have seen done with them has been very good though.
