Wow! I just found this out today while searching routes for my summer trip through Yellowstone National Park.

As of Nov 2022 - All Veterans and Members of Gold Star Families are entitled to Free Entry to All National Parks and recreation lands.

You just have to show your veterans ID at the gates :)

I'm grateful for all the non profit and profit organizations who recognize us Vets.

A real simple example is the hardware, feed, grocery stores (among others) that have designated VA parking spaces.

And the free medical care is a nice touch :thumb:

An I am currently enjoying the military retirement benefit of free prescription glasses AND prescription sun glasses.
Several years ago I paid the $10 fee for my Lifetime Senior National Parks pass. I use that for half price camping at ACoE campgrounds as well as free access to National Parks.

Amen! The hearing aids the V.A. blessed me with are among the best made, according to my research.

They are Oticon More 1 mini-RITE R rechargeable aids, and they work seamlessly with my iPhone SE.
I have an older Oticon set. Kind'a pricey but they are tuned to cancel most of my tinnitus, by generating an appropriate feedback. Cool stuff.

I got my $10 pass a few years back when it was first offered. Making it free by requiring only Veteran ID is a nice touch though.

I could not find my Veterans ID so I took a copy of my DD214 and they said that was even better.

I've got my card already so that's not an issue. Though I haven't got round to it yet CA allows for a Veteran designation on the front of a driver's license. Previously there was a $5 fee but that's been eliminated and now it's free. Example:

As state identification I wonder if this would pass. It's not like our National Parks are high security facilities. But I'd dig up my ID just in case.
