What do you call those "storage containers" that hang off the side of your bike?

I like to ride horses when I can. When I go, i like to take my 100+ year old cowboy saddle bags that I restored (including putting in copper rivets and patching rips and whatnot.

That being said, theres no way in heck im gunna call them panniers

Now THOSE are saddle bags, indeed. Neat!

Pannier comes from the old french word "panier" or basket in English. Panier in turn comes from the latin word "panis" meaning bread.

So i may have been born in the UK but i'm going to call them saddle bags 'cos i don't want no bread baskets on my ST!!

Agree, I've seen some pretty funny ones. But doesn't anyone proof read before hitting Send, especially with auto correct always lurking in the background?

Some of those AC errors seem staged to me but I have learned to pay more attention before hitting send. 'Post Quick Reply' not so much. LOL!

I catch most of them, but a few still seem to slip through. Sometimes it changes the word to one completely unrelated that isn't even a homonym, synonym, etc. before I've finished spelling it and before I've actually made any kind of typo. Be careful if you swear a lot, it seems to like picking often used words and sticking them in completely out of context.

basically, “pannier” derived from the French word “basket”
And similarly, “pain” (sounds like paan) in French is “bread”

For me, pannier is a lot like the word pillion. They are both words I will never use.

Regarding pillion, my understanding is that is the seat for another person, the passenger.

To answer the question, I suppose maybe side cases.
