Though it seems almost anti-climactic the official start of Spring was March 19 this year.
And just to enforce that spring weather is early I actually had to mow the lawn today. It needed it badly!
That's WAY unusual for northern states. We had sunny and 59F at my house today. No working on the bike or riding today even though it was a beautiful day for it.

Got to use the new Ego string trimmer for an actual first time (not just a test run). I charged up all 3 batteries, the 2.5 Ah for the trimmer and the 5 Ah and 7.5 Ah for the mower. The Ego batteries have an internal program that will run if the battery sits idle for 30 days. They will automatically drain down to around 30% for longer storage and to enable the batteries to last longer.

I used the trimmer all around the front and side yards outside the fence which is most of the trimming that needs to be done. I ended up with 40% remaining charge on the 2.5 Ah battery. Then I used the 7.5 Ah battery first in the mower to finish 75% of the yard. I could have done more on that battery but I was using the self-propelled feature a lot this time. I'm not used to the exercise of mowing yet. Then I popped in the 5 Ah battery to finish just to give all the batteries a bit of a workout. I'll go out again after dinner to finish using the string trimmer around the back yard.

Sounds like you had a productive day embracing the early spring weather! It's amazing how technology like the Ego string trimmer and mower can simplify yard work. Smart move on rotating the batteries for a workout.

Tree hugger! :rofl1:
Don't have many trees in MY yard to hug. Really only one big enough to do that with. But the leaves are out now. Last time I mowed my wife strongly suggested to me that I give the JD tractor some exercise around the yard. Batteries are easier. Lighter than the gas can and faster to swap out vs refilling the gas tank.

Wickedly windy today, just getting up to 23 mph and going higher with much higher gusts, so no riding. Went out this morning before the winds kicked up too much and ran the tiller through the garden. A bit early this year for doing that in my area but spring is early and temps expected to stay around 70+F now going forward with maybe a day or two dropping into the mid 60sF. Expecting my trailer parts in the mail today so will be working on that later this afternoon or tomorrow.

This is the coldest spring ever! And i am staying in my bed today with the horrible flu.
Hopefully my Canadian Pharmacy Partnership medications will arrive soon and i will get better in no time.
It is annoying, especially considering the fact that it is almost May.

Coldest winter in 63-years here! Up until this last weekend, the highlands were still un-ridable due to snow!

Hard to imagine Arizona having that kind of weather all the way to near the end of April!
We've had one of the mildest winters in a long time and even set a few records for the warmest months earlier this year. This winter in Iowa was the warmest ever on record since 1880 and February set the record for being the warmest February ever on record in my area.

The poles are shifting fast, sometings going on that no one seems to want to talk about.

"The position of Earth's magnetic north pole was first precisely located in 1831. Since then, it's gradually drifted north-northwest by more than 600 miles (1,100 kilometers), and its forward speed has increased from about 10 miles (16 kilometers) per year to about 34 miles (55 kilometers) per year. Yeah, this is bound to shift cold and hot spots around globe. Desert areas will become arctic and former cold areas will become desert!

There’s geological evidence of this happening due to pole shifting in earlier times.

During a pole reversal, Earth's magnetic north and south poles swap locations. This happens on average every 300,000 years or so, but the last flip occurred around 780,000 years ago, according to NASA. In Earth's geologic history, pole reversals are relatively common, reversing 183 times in the last 83 million years.

we are over due :nuke1:

Kind of like Yellowstone is overdue, or close to being so, for a massive eruption. I'd like it to wait at least another 100 years so I and my current family will be gone before 2/3 of the USA is gone from it.
