On the way home from LOCSTOC I really had no excuse not to move this tag. So here it is.
Old tag is the Fenelon Place Elevator in Dubuque. This perspective is at the west end of 4th Street at the bottom of the bluffs. This "elevator" is claimed to be the shortest and steepest railroad in the world. Also called the 4th street elevator. It was built by a local business executive/politician who had a hard time getting to work since he had to wind around back streets a long way around to get down the bluffs to the work place. He built it to get to work faster and allow for a nap at lunch
Invoking Tag Rule #8 and restarting this dormant thread. The tag is the bridge. On my way there, I came across this nice little "gem" of a state park. It will be better when they get the lake fixed.
I'm sure not a mistake... But not moved.
Likely just remembering the place.
I notice the bushes across the front in Bill's photo are a LOT smaller... Younger.
Old tag, in Waterloo. New tag, a new landmark you probably aren't going to find on Google maps yet. If you're coming for it, please let me know as we might be able to have lunch or a beer or both. The closest you can park the bike, legally, is about 300 yds away, but here's an up close and personal look at it.
