Where is the headlight relay located?

I've been having issues with my turn signals and hi/low beam switch so ordered a new part. I tried crossing the wires to the hi/low beam switch but neither hi nor low beams came on, leading me to think there is a headlight relay somewhere. It would be great if someone could tell me where that is located .. the schematic I have is in micro print and impossible to trace - thanks to anyone who can point out the location and even the part number. A picture would be great. Thanks! Peter

What part did you start with? Assuming you checked the fuses. Crossing the wire leads from where? I’ll look at the manual for relay or fuse location and get back to you. Trace your wires as far as you can and look for frayed or chewed wires.

A common problem with the switches - they get dirty and sometimes a simple cleaning will resolve

Relays are arranged in two rows behind the left side cover. The triangular piece of fairing below the seat and in front of the saddlebag. Removing it requires removing the seat and left saddlebag. The low beam relay is the first one in the second row (innermost), the high beam is next to it.

ST1300. The right hand headlight bulb does not use individual relays. The lefthand headlight bulb has two relays - one relay for each filament - hi beam and lo beam.

The two yellow relays in this coloured in diagram.

The diagram below is for the UK version ABS 2009 model. We have a spring loaded passing/flashing switch as part of the Hi/Lo dip switch on the left thumb. USA version do not have this - so ignore the power feed in the middle of the three fused power sources on the right hand side of the diagram.

This ST1300 seems more and more to have some ground circuit issues. You mentioned earlier there has been 4 electrical issues going on. At this point I would check the 24 pin connector under the left fairing for signs of overheating of the green (ground) wire. I can't the next couple of days but next week maybe I can ride over to Panacea and help you figure this out.
