2014 FJR 1300
It has been just over 10 years now since I traded my beloved Tower Silver 2003 ST1300 in for a new shinny Candy Red 2014 FJR. I was just sitting here wondering where she might be. At the time she was 12 years old with 130xxx miles on her odometer. Hoping with all my heart she was sold to a loving person and is not in a salvage yard today. Maybe some one here on this forum acquired her from the dealer or another owner now. My old 2003 ST1300 could be identified by her silver wheels and silver clutch and brake master cylinder reservoirs. (03 ST13s came with black wheels and black reservoirs) The last six# of her Vin were 100334. If anybody is now the owner or knows her whereabouts please let me know. This is like trying to find a lost love of so many years ago.

As much as you’d like to find out what happened to it or where it is, it’s (likely) a fruitless search. You hear those stories of a rare car that was found and it belonged to the original owner as a first car (and recovered by them to relive their youth), but for something more common, it’s probably best to just look forward.

Hello. Just to inspire your quest. Early this year I attempted to call the original owner (his number was in bike owner manual) for my 2006 ST. He actually answered the phone! He is 80yrs old and was tickled pink that the bike has almost 100k miles. Enjoyed the interaction. So, sometimes, you never know what the tide can bring in (Tom Hanks - Castaway). Btw, both of your bikes are really nice.

If you have any friends at the motor vehicle department, or any local law enforcement agency, it would be a simple matter to see who the vehicle belongs to now ;)

Post the vin numbers you have as well as anything distinguishing and see if it is out there. I sold mine and found it later only because of the trunk I had put on it.

I believe somewhere in Alabama
I've been to a similar graveyard in Alabama, probably looking for something for a Honda CB750. Some 20 years ago.

It was actually heartbreaking for me to see hundreds of older UJMs sitting out in the weather, rusting to death.

Whatever value the parts may have had, was long since destroyed, and I remember thinking the owner might have just as well poured gas on them and set them ablaze.

Even IF you could find what you were looking for (there was no system, no catalog of parts) it would be unusable... tanks, frames and engines full of rust, plastics cracked and faded, and all of that could have been preserved if put under cover. Like Moritz' place in Noraly's video.

One such breaker (may have been this one, not sure) said he bought old bikes for $25 per cylinder. I guess they all came to him totalled.

Anyway, I left sad, and thinking to myself "what a stupid business model." I wouldn't have paid twenty bucks for anything I saw out there.

My old st was a great bike. Seating position, joint pain , and poor driveability in high altitudes made me realize the bike doesn't fit me any more. Good bye, thanks for the ride but really don't care what happened to it afterwards. :twocents1:

Each to his own, but the ST1300 was longest owned, and most miles ridden, on one bike for me. (my FJR is approaching that status now) The ST13 became a member of the family and there are many, many memories made riding and owning that machine. Also the many great people I have met thru owning the ST. Yes I know, and it has been proven many times in my life, "one can never go go Home again" but I was just wondering where she might be and how she has faired over the last 10 years. Did / do the new owner(s) take care and appreciate her as much as I did? Each of my motorcycles represent certain time periods in my riding career and I enjoy reminiscing those times and adventures as I sort through the many pictures I have taken over the years. My wife calls my motorcycles my "Girl Friends" and in many ways they are. I do get attached to my vehicles, that is why I tend to keep them for longer periods.

I totally get Chucks desire to find out how his ST is doing. I tend to own my Vehicles for decades. 1980 bought a new Amx owned it 15 years, 1990 swaped the 6 for a 8 cylinder well two years later finished putting the car back together. List of improvements to long for me to type, one was painting inside and out side with Marine epoxy paint to prevent rust. Owned a 83 CBX550f "Honey"for 28 years,My father and I hand built the mufflers on it. Last spring sold two of my bikes ,to friends so get to keep a eye on them. Yeah I get emotionally attached to my cars and bikes too. Hope you find her.
