What color engine paint?

Don't know for sure, but it looks a lot like the same color as the tupperware on the 2003 model. Keep in mind that it would probably need to be high temp engine enamel to use on the clutch cover.

If you get a decent match it shouldn't matter that much as you can't see any other part of the engine at the same time?

The handlebars, grab rails, and similar exposed parts are "Honda Sparkling Silver Metallic NH295M paint". It may be close enough.
:shrug1:

Would rather go just pick up some silver heat paint off the shelf, not Honda paint. Guess I'll just find some hi-temp silver.

Haven't had my ST for a while but I think "wheel paint" is about the same color. Several colors to choose from. It's available at your local flaps or Wally World. I don't think it needs to be high temp. I like the stuff.

Well, I painted my water pump area today and it matched really well. I wouldn't want to try and paint the entire front of the motor w/o the wheel removed.

Here's the paint I used.

Fred, let us know if it suffers any ill effects from the heat such as blisters, peeling, discoloration, etc. Just curious to see how it holds up...

Will do Don. Might be a while with all this snow though. :(

Since I used to restore old Hondas, I have some materials left in the garage, including a close match to early Honda engine paint. This is currently available in spray cans as Honda Cloud Silver. I have painted many engine cases (not headers, heads or cylinders) and it lasts well. I've used it to spray thermostat housings on both my ST1100 and 1300 and the valve covers on the 1100...two and four years back, respectively. Looks a bit dusty, otherwise fine. No blisters. I wouldn't expect any unless the paint is 'near' the headers.
