Wednesday OMG Café, 11/06.

Morning all! It's a grey day with the promise of possibly some sun later. It's 8C now, high of 9 predicted.

House renos proceed at a blistering pace, the wood flooring is almost done throughout the house and tile is down in entries, laundry room and bathrooms. Looks like we'll be back in the house on schedule. Woo hoo! Not to figure out how to pay for the whole thing....lottery.....robbery.....face facts that retirement is a distant....very distant.....dream?

John, my condolences on the loss of your friend. Whiskers, may your recovery be speedy.

Had a weird interaction at the dog park this morning. A woman was walking her dog and my pup ran up to play. The pup can be over enthusiastic and I'm working on manners with him. Anyway, the other dog, a doberman, immediately scurried back to its owner who informed me that her dog had been bitten several times by large dogs at the park and was nervous about them. I dutiful collected my large dog and placed him on a leash. We went to continue the walk and she let her dog run free. Which meant I had to keep mine on leash as her dog was roaming wide and far. I kept mine on the leash to avoid any issues but I was a bit annoyed that he could no longer run free (partly selfish motives, if he runs hard, he's calmer in the house). Not sure if I am overreacting or just a grumpy old man but lesson learned; go to a different park :D.

Hope everyone has a great day and oils well that ends well...(oil well?)!

We don't "do" dog parks, for this reason.
Besides the opportunity for disease (even tho Kaiser's shots are up to date), there just are some rude people who allow their dogs to misbehave, and this can serve to diminish the training we've (some of us) have done with our animals. It's more often the people that are the problems, not the pets themselves.
We come across other dogs as we bop around the town and on our neighborhood walks, so it's not like he's not being socialized.
But I don't want him to become reactive to other dogs just because some owners won't control theirs.

I feel the need to post a warning about hydrogen peroxide.
Folks need to do some research before just trying it.
From what I know & have read, this isn't a cure for what ails you. I'm not talking vaccines here. as that's up to you, just that inhaling H2O2 isn't the best idea.
Feel free to check it out, make up your own mind, and do what you wish; but I felt it prudent to make a comment about it.

Afternoon Ray & All from mostly cloudy and COLD, Sothern Utah!

Currently it is 39F,up from a low of 23F and heading for a high of 40F (maybe). The winds have been blowing all morning, up to 15mph. Making it even colder! :well1:

I went and got a couple of hairs cut off, and now my head is even colder!

Sorry to hear about your friend, John. I just found out about an hour ago, a good friend I had, when I was working in San Bernardino (CA) back in 2005 to 2008, had past away a year ago. I stumbled on his Facebook page, and there was a posting indicating that he had passed last year some time. A really nice guy.

I won't be doing much today with it cold out there.

I'll be having lunch soon and I'll have a Pepsi then. :)

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
