Where did 11 come from. Best have some Dark Italian Roast and Vanilla Brioche and see if we can figure it out.
No, but we tried.
Yesterday was a lesson in fairly modern vehicles and routine maintenance. Er'Indoors new battery and air filter had gathered enough dust so they were first on the list. Does anyone here remember when you could change an air filter by removing one wing nut or change a battery by just removing two leads and a bolt. Pffffffftttttt.
No wonder labour bills are high in garages or that battery fitted for free is twice as much as one you can buy online.
But I renewed by mechanical credentials (again) and the job was done. Reset the EMU light, let's see if it stays off, I'm not confident.
Today, who knows, but the weather is fandabulous, we may see 62 and sun.
Av a gud un and remember, OMG.
Upt.

Just an interesting snippet for OBO about VDub.
Volkswagen intends to close at least three plants in Germany and downsize all remaining factories, the chairwoman of the works council, Daniela Cavallo, told employees in Wolfsburg. The closures could result in the loss of tens of thousands of jobs. Entire departments may be closed or relocated abroad.

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Ray. 45F on the dog walk with a clear sky and lots of stars to see and enjoy.
I have gym this morning and that will last me till 11am. after that I have no plans for the afternoon. The high should be 67F which would make working out in the garage nice. so maybe I will make plans for shop cleaning. we will see. enjoy the day

stay safe

Salutations from Bahama youse all.
Thanks for the roasted Italian and brioche - yum.
Hmmm I'll have that little piece over th....nevermind - cut me off a big chunk please!

Happy Wednesday Y'all - Wednesday? yeah time moves on...
@Whisker Bill 'hope yer gargling with salt (or a good scotch) - feel better man!

Program fer today looks like some painting of outdoor stuff.
Time to fix sun and squirrel damage and see how much paint I can wear.
Ah, all this gittin' ready for Winter stuff is tough ya know.

To your point, Ray, I continue to keep my old Chevy running in spite of its age.
The newfangled stuff is designed as money-makers since no one can work on them without costly computers and/or specialized tools.
And of course there's; "we're the dealer and can charge whatever we like" kinda thing.
It's always interesting when I read up on the "known defects", "TSBs" and especially recalls.
Even the Honda GW:

Y'all have a winderfill day!

Good morning all, and thanks for the coffee Ray. Cooler and raining here now, but I did get a nice long evening ride in last night it was a balmy 20c on Nov 5, who could complain about that! Still looks like another week or two of riding weather here, so all is good. Have a great day all, and stay safe.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and brioche, Ray. OMG indeed.

Today, we'll see mainly cloudy conditions and even warmer temps than yesterday. Right now we're at 19°C/66°F and that will climb to a high of 20°C/68°C, with a humidex that will make it all feel a degree or two warmer.

I'll be getting my flu and Covid shots at lunchtime today, and then, I'm off to a Japanese restaurant for dinner with friends/former colleagues this evening.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Ray. Glad to see something this morning that was expected.

Rode to work this morning as although damp, it wasn't raining, and it was 12C with a pink and blue sky. Should see 18C and cloudy for the high.

As for VW plants, most of what we get in North America comes from Meh-he-co now, so the fate of Germans has little do do with me, and more to do with the German at the Helm (assuming she's a German, and assuming she self reports as a she.)

Not sure what the day holds. I know some of what it holds, but will try and pretend I don't so as to better enjoy the day. Ignorance is bliss, so come on bliss!

Cheers 'n beers, (and get well soon Bill)

Obo.

Good morning all!
Thanks for the start Ray.
You lot have kept me enjoying this site!
Yes Nick, I do gargle with salt water. (what a treat) It’s right up there with several other items I won’t entertain you with!
I did return home from hunting, mostly so I didn’t make the rest of the gang sick!
Miss Judy is in Woodstock, so I’m getting direction from her over the phone.
Good luck picking a car these days Obo.
Everything is expensive!
Breezy & warm today, high of 16C.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian Roast, Ray.

The high should be 67F

Come east- we're already at 61°F and expecting a record high of 79°F under sunny skies with 20+ mph winds and stronger gusts. It'll bring down many of the leaves that have clung to their trees so another clearing episode will be called for at some point. It'll also make goof today rather interesting, I suspect.

The first of Mrs. Fun's family arrive this evening ahead of Saturday's ceremony and service; we'll treat them and two of our neighbor couples to dinner tonight at the Italian place just up the road.

Av a gud un and remember, OMG.

At least the advertising will stop for a little while. Man does that crap get OLD.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning, everyone. Mmmmmm…….good coffee and Brioche. Thanks, Ray.

66/79, with clouds and afternoon showers. Can’t complain, as we need the rain. The changing color of the leaves was a bust this year, due to the extreme drought. Seems like over a period of 2-3 days, the leaves turned color and immediately turned loose. I’ve never seen maple trees go completely bare over a weekend.

I lost a long time friend yesterday. It always hurts, but what hurts more is that the circle of friends to notify is getting much smaller as years go by. While on the phone with another friend, we were having trouble remembering who is still left that needs to be notified. Sad to say, but the list is getting short.

John

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee and brioche, Ray.

It's 64 and partly cloudy in MA this morning, rising to 79 for today's high.
It'll be a bit windy, as well.

I stayed away from the gym, yesterday, but did get out for a 3+ mile walk with our neighbor's dog.
I also cleaned up the attic, so I can put all of the crap back up there, once the insulation inspector does his thing.
First Tuesday went well, with 7 of us attending. I took the Wing to the event, and eventually back to the hotel. No problems with that bolt (so far).

I got a text from our builder, telling me that the insulation inspector will be here sometime between 10:00 and 1:00, so I'll stick around for that.
Once that's done, they can install drywall, flooring, and everything else. The builder tells me that our cabinets are at the at the supply company so we won't be waiting on them.
I also got a text from my Opthamologist, with prescriptions for eye drops leading up to my second Cataract surgury, so I'll pick them up after the inspection.

@Nashcat, John, condolences on the loss of your friend.
@Whisker Bill, hopefully things will improve for you, soon.

Everyone, have a great day,
Steve

John, it’s good that you are here and able to attend for the family.
Friends are so important to us all!
My condolences!

GOOD morning all, and thanks for the extra coffee Ray.

Keith, the ads won't stop... they'll only change the products and manufacturers. But i heard all the campaign spending, for all races, was over 13 Billion dollars. That just seems very wrong, to me, win or lose.

John, I'm sorry for your loss. We all get closer, every moment, and we can't change it.

I stayed up too late, but it was worth it this time. This is another blip in human history, but I question whether my country will ever truly be "unite" again... but in reality, that isn't dependent on who sits in the White House... that depends on each and every one of us, and how we treat each other.

Today it's cloudy, 30% chance for rain, and high of 80.

For those who are distraught over our election results, the DOW futures are up 1300 points - 3% - does Wall Street know something you don't?

We're still in turbulent times, so i wish peace for all.

G'Day...

quite hazy today, 10°C (50°F for those still stuck on medieval units), so it isn't really day... its just dawn till 1400hrs, then suddenly night again...

Speaking of car services...
Last night I picked my GF up from a place she'd dropped her Skoda off for annual tech inspection...
It was on the other side of town... I left office at 1620hrs... arrived there at 1800hrs... for 52km/32 miles... traffic like the night before Christmas... pffffft...
Observed another IONIQ EV trying steer into/knock over a motorcycle rider filtering through the queues on the m/way... what an AH!!!
The rider must have sensed it as he swerved in time...

One hour later the way back home took like 35 minutes...
Munched some dinner, consumed another 3 episodes of DEXTER... series 4 already... (got me the BD box-set  )

cheers!

Good morning, Mostly cloudy 46F expected high 52F wind 7mph from east and 91% humidity. Today's plan see Cardiologist at 12:30 them catch a boat to Vancouver Island to see Sister and Mom. For Obo's info, the brands I least had to work on where Mazdas then Toyotas and Nissans in that order. Problem with VW is the company's pricing of parts for example a lower reverse planetary in 1990 was $1400 ,one from ford was $40. Might have changed but I dought it.
John , sorry to hear of losing a friend, no matter how many friends one loses it never gets easier to take.
Safe travels, G

Thanks for the coffee, Ray.

Beautiful sunny day today. A bit cool. May take the bike out for a spin this afternoon.

Stayed up late to watch election results. Relieved, but cautious. The pendulum has a habit of swinging hard right after swinging hard left. We don't need prisons filled with political opponents. Unless they're the ones on my list.)

I'm going to say this because I care very deeply for people....why would anyone put biowarfare in their bodies and think it will improve their health? This saddens me tremendously. For about $.01 I can nebulize with 3% hydrogen peroxide for a couple of minutes and defeat any virus that comes my way. I've done this over and over. With the flu, covid, etc. It's scientific, it works, and it's well known in the medical community. Hydrogen peroxide is a wonderful thing. Keep in mind that this is a top down treatment. Focus on the nose and nasal passages since everything starts there and then goes to the lungs. Small handheld nebulizers are about $50 on Amazon. Easy to take on vacations. That's the seed I'm throwing out there for anyone who cares about science more than pharma marketing and WHO agendas.
