Wednesday Feb 26th coffee

We were buying a new wall oven and cooktop on the weekend, and they were pushing the extended warranty really hard, noting the prices or common repairs to all appliances. In general chatting they said you would get at least 3 years out of a current washer or dryer, and that was a selling point? 1 yr warranty, and a 3 year expected life span? Out old washer & dryer were over 12 years old and still worked, with only a bit or maintenance. The new heat pump dryers, while nifty; require an HVAC tech to work on them due to the refrigerants etc. I guess longevity & heavy duty isn't what it used to be.

Morning Obo & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 44F, up from 35F and heading for 51F. No breeze yet, but later we'll see the winds coming from the N@ 14 to 30mph.

Chris must be having a lot of fun in LA, last night, no phone call, instead I got a text that she's been really busy. Let me just try that when I'm on my motorcycle rides! :well1:

But, I'll survive, I'm sure! ;)

Speaking of rides, I did a 354 mile ride yesterday! :hat3:

I made it home, just before it got dark, so I was glad I didn't make it a longer ride!

I'll pull the 05 out of the garage and turn the pressure washer on it, to clean it up. And I'm hoping the front cover is in better shape.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start my morning. Pepsi(s) to come later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! (Like I did yesterday!) :hat3:

That's why our friend suggested the Speed Queen. Even though they are about 1/3 more in price, they will last longer (7 year warranty) and they are simple to work on. Less bells and whistles!

Who really needs a whistle in a washer , drier or oven. Handy in a kettle though!

And the old "I'm done" buzzer or beep has been replaced by melodic tune chimes.

Our fridge, washer, and dryer are all products designed and made in Asia, and they all make various chirps, dings, whistles, tweets, and various other happy / contented sounds in response to particular circumstances. About the only time they're quiet is when not in actual operation, and I'll bet even then they're quietly humming a tune of happy satisfaction on a job well done and purpose fulfilled.

By contrast our dishwasher, a product of a company based in Germany, maintains utter silence as it goes about its task with Teutonic efficiency and stoicism.

Yawn......

It's hump day ........
Thanks for the start up.

Suns out, snow is gone, rain has passed, looks like a good day to wash the filthy truck. Oh joy.

Tomorrow holds a spring skiing day at Mission Ridge near Wenatchee WA. Started my skiing there 51 years ago. My favorite hill to this day.

Go have a humpy kinda day.....

STill can't locate any Bridgestone Exedra G547, 110/80 -18 TL 58 V anymore...

As I had already received two G548 rears I eventually found G547s in the USA. Got 2 but it was expensive  They should make the solo happy for a couple of tours :) Already had a matched pair for the outfit! But I think that'll be the last time I can get them!

Remember the old Speed Queens with the huge concrete brick in the base? My parents had one that was probably 35 years old and still worked just fine. Wasn't any fun carrying it up the basement stairs I'll tell you.
