Yeah, but I did go to bed early.
So, check this out - I ran across this coffee at Lulu's Bar and Grill called; "Expressly Yours".
A smooth expresso that is absolutely transformative. Frank the cook makes it strong too.
It will open your eyes and make you see things!
Very popular at the bar at 3AM.

The machining of the pulleys went well yesterday and after about 10 min of welding, we now have a double pulley.
It went so well, I thought about going into business - but then I thought about spreadsheets, taxes and marketing.
I quickly dumped the idea. Retirement is kinda cool.

Yesterday started with rain and ended beautifully here in little Bahama.
Nuttin' to complain about.
I heard that the Canadians were sending some cold weather here this week however. Is that true??
Brrrr, where's my galoshes?

Mounting the spindle today and watching it spin will be a treat!
My friend will be back in business mowing his fields.
Yep - he has miniature horses and they like that clover and such.

How about some bar cookies to go with the bar theme?

Y'all have a winderfilled day!!

Thx Nick, Lulu and Frank, and good morning!
Usually nothing good happens after midnight…exceptions always welcome.

Your level of activity is amazing Nick, like a grownup Peter.
Hope he learns how to weld.

I think I had a seizure or two during the night, suddenly I’m made of concrete.
But give me an hour and some more Lulu stuff, and I’m good to go, or walk.

8˚c/46f, grey, showers, pretty calm.

A lot of should haves today.

Have a good one!
Stu

The view this morning, colors gone. Some more Lulu juice might fix it…

Good morning, all. Thanks for the coffee, Lulu.

I woke up due to joint pain in both hands. It took a bit of flexing the fingers before I could grip the handle of the mug. Probably caused by approaching rain.

32/58 for today, with rain around noonish. I managed to lightly straighten the garage yesterday. I’ve decided that I have entirely too many gadgets and tools, and not enough nooks and crannies to store them. Now that it’s somewhat more organized, I may try to get some reloading done today. You can never have too much ammo.

Probably too early to feed the Titmouse.

John

Awesome, John! You're like that Dr. Dolittle guy!

G'Day...

5°C, light gray overcast, nothing to be expected falling from the sky, no liquid or frozen H²O... maybe some satellite debris, we'll see...

it ain't that I'm ghosting you guys, its more that I'm employed, hence duties and daily routines to fulfill...
Get up, throw a mug of strong coffee into my face, commute to work, perform, drive home, dinner, some TV, sleep... start over the next day...

Yep, I'm a desk-drone, Outlook, Word, Excel, data bases, plotting building floor plans, decipher tenders texts, establish quotations for clients, slurp instant coffee at my desk...
No tinkering with farm/groundskeeper equipment, turning up trees, erecting barns, wringing bodily fluids out fury friends at the butt-crack of dawn or hunting/gutting wild animals to roast their body parts over an open fire-pit ...

Ordered me a new 3in1 jacket, the prev Schoeffel GoreTex is aprox 20 years old and it shows...
Nah! Won't pay + € 300,- for the successor... especially not for their either Batman-monochrome or totally screaming colors... don't wanna look like a buoy or a poisonous frog...
Found one for around € 50,-, civilized color scheme, breathable, remove/wearable thermo liner, waterproof to 10,000mm water column...
Packing says "Technology To Enhance Human Performance"... I can already feel it...

have a nice day...
(because "enjoy your next 24 hours" would sound like a threat... ;) )

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Nick. always up to try different coffees. 56F on the dog walk with just clouds to keep me company. they say cloudy all day. yesterdays blood draw went well. one stick and it was all over.
today I have a modified swallow test. I understand I drink something and they watch me swallow. new to me so we will see how it goes. then its off to UPS to send my sons Christmas gifts to him in VA. our high should see 73F. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the early start Nick. That Lulu has it goin' on.

It's 38°F and clear in Rockville, with partly sunny skies and a high of 55 expected. Should make for good driving as we head south to Charlottesville VA for a couple days at our niece's place. This is the same niece who was in Italy with us; her mother-in-law loves to cook, decorate the house, and entertain, so that's where we'll spend Thursday. We'll come home Friday.

@Nashcat: John, that's an incredible photo!

Yesterday I started trying to learn to play a simple musical instrument. My cousin has issued a challenge to the family: if ten of us pledge to learn music in some form more complex than a kazoo or jew's harp, and follow up on the pledge, she will attend the reunion (very probably her last one) in Hawaii next June. I'm not sure how many others have accepted her challenge but I've decided to give it a go, despite a deeply flawed sense of rhythm and equally suspect degree of coordination. I'm assured by a friend who plays this particular type of instrument that the fundamentals are relatively easily achieved with a modest amount of effort and persistence, so why not give it a go?

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. And try to play or sing in tune.

Morning all, and thanks for the cup o' questions, Nick. Consistency is the key, even if it's not the coffee.

4C and variable mist for the ride into work. Cloudy and 7C for the ride home. It may be the last day as we have a special weather statement in for tomorrow night. Tomorrow is lots of rain, until the temps drop. There's now a warning out for 15cm/6" of snow by Friday morning. Time to switch Honda's, from MC to SB. The SB is a DCT too. :)

Hope everyone has an excellent day!

Good morning all, and thanks for the cupful, Nick, it's a Lulu. And much needed, after a fitful night of interrupted sleep and crazy dreams.

it's another chilly, blustery November day here, but at least the sun will shine. Alas, it will cast no warmth. The proverbial mercury currently sits at 2°C/36°F but feels like -4°C/25°F, and will slowly, painfully claw its way up to 5°C/41°F with a feels-like of 0°C/32°F.

@Nashcat: Amazing shot, John! Looks like the titmouse might have been inquiring as to whether you had any Grey Poupon.
@peterz: Nice to see you, Peter!
@ibike2havefun: Safe travels and have a great Thanksgiving. Now, what might this "instrument" be? Triangle? Air guitar?

Right, once more into the breach, as they say. Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely (especially this week).

Neither of those. It's not a percussion instrument and it does actually produce sound, although one of the practice techniques I've heard of is "shadow playing", where the student mimics the motions required without actually being in contact with the instrument.

Think tropical breezes, the gentle sounds of surf, hula girls, and kalua pig and you'll doubtless figure it out.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Nick.

It's 33 and sunny in MA this morning. There's still moisture on the roads, so black ice is a worry.
It'll rise to 47 and we'll have a mix of sun and clouds.

Yesterday's plan for a walk with the neighbor's dog went awry, when the rain began too soon.
Instead, I headed to the gym and walked on the treadmill for an hour.

Our contractor texted me to say that they'll be here on Monday to tear out the old subfloor and install the new.
Cabinets on Tuesday!
We still have a way to go, but that sounds like progress. I told Brenda that we need to select the lighting for the kitchen and bath, soon.

Today, I haven't got a plan. I may stop by to see if the neighbor's dog is available, but they said they were leaving for Thanksgiving, and may not be around. I know my way around the "Outback" without her.
Brenda will work till noon, shop for her part of Thanksgiving dinner, before heading to our son's place in Dedham. She'll spend the night, after helping with the preparations, and I'll head over in the morning.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all!
Thanks for the stuff in the cup, I think. As an old Maine farm boy I must admit the most adventurous I have ever gotten with coffee is a "grande breakfast blend" from Starbucks. Ah, just a hint of battery acid. I have never tried anything anything ending in "o". Yes, I am boring!

21F here at the house this morning and cloudy. After yesterday's rain everything is frost/ice covered. "They" claim it should hit 41F later. "They" are also forecasting up to 3 inches of snow tomorrow.

It has been a while since I stopped by the kitchen so let's see what has taken place...
- I was successful in Wyoming and harvested a small mule deer
- I was not able to make a clean shot in Maine last week so I came home empty-handed.
- I am still trying here in New Hampshire. I think the deer put out a memo warning everyone about me.
- I finalized the purchase of 115 acres of woodland about an hour from my house. Next spring/summer will entail cleanup of some logging debris, smoothing out some trails and flattening a spot or two where I can pitch a tent, and encouraging deer visitation by putting in a couple of small food plots.
- The 3 inch lift kit on the truck should keep it away from dirt road/trail obstacles better. I am pretty sure I heard the slightly battered running boards give a sigh of relief after installation!
- The reloading bench has been built and machines installed. Now I just need to figure out what calibers require replenishment.

Nothing too exciting this morning, perhaps some house cleaning. I did notice (finally) that one of the outdoor motion lights isn't lighting so I might check it out. After lunch will be another walk in the woods seeking venison.

Keep safe, travel carefully if doing so and enjoy Thanksgiving (those that do) tomorrow

Scott
