VW Buzz now on the streets

I saw one here in Jacksonville a couple of days ago with surfboards on the roof rack. Nostalgia buzz.

Electric only right?
Size of Honda Element?
Gas and Element-size would be a winner I'd think.....Honda ditched a winner when they dropped it.

Dealers are not allowed to sell them here yet. Most are getting one unit this week or next. They have to keep them so everyone that wants to look at them, kick the tires etc, can. They are not allowed to sell them until they starting getting in additional units. At $80K+ CDN, I doubt they will be flying off the shelves, although the charity one went for a hefty $3M US I think.

Yeah, saw one up close yesterday exact same colour as post #1; had a quick look and frankly it seemed quite boxy much like the aforementioned Honda Element back in the day. Also smaller live than what I see in the picture.
Would probably make a great ice cream truck… if you could put enough batteries in it. Left me cold :rofl1:

Looks like the illicit love child of a classic VW microbus and the Toyota Previa of about 30 years ago...

Similarities to the L'eggs packing are pure coincidence...

Interesting side note though: the Previa was build on the same base as my trusty Carina E estate; drive train, suspension, etc...
So despite a higher CG that "wind egg" handled astonishingly compact and sporty...

And since no EV manufacturer publishes the total numbers on production emissions & contamination, I keep out of that niche...

These guys tried to road trip it from New Jersey to Illinois:

Although most of the problems were caused by the crappy charging infrastructure, I'm not a fan of the, apparently, short range.

I find such more enlightening...

There was another scene where the thing couldn't even overcome the speed-bump on a parking lot...
