Veterans Day!

Seriously, thank you to all of the other veterans here, as well as any in public services.

I'm thinking of taking a ride down Rt. 5 to Williamsburg this afternoon. I definitely want to pick up some BBQ from Pierce's Pitt, and I'm considering going to Capt. George's seafood restaurant. The buffet is half price for veterans today.

In AUS, we have Remembrance Day on 11 November. Whilst I wasn't selected for service when young fellows from my age group were being selected in 1971, my Dad, both Grandads and a number of uncles served in WW1 and WW2, Korea and quite a few of my mates went to Vietnam, some didn't return. Remembrance Day is a day Australia thanks them for their service.

No. 1 son (Anthony) also served 20 years with the Army, served in Afghanistan, retired a couple of years back as a Major, but continues to serve in the Army Reserve. Here he is at the Dawn Service on ANZAC* Day (a couple of years back) with his service medals and ribbons, along with no. 2 grandson (Patrick) with my Dad's service medals and ribbons.

* ANZAC is Australian & New Zealand Army Corps

Thanks to all who served.
