Ok. I've decided on looks alone to go with the 2 Brothers thru New Enough. I'm torn between the (3) M5 pipes that they offer: Aluminum @ $625 delivered or the Carbon Fiber and Titanium both at $775.

Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. I'm leaning towards the CF, but the Titanium looks good too. I have an 05 ST and want the maintenance to keep them looking good to a minimum, so Aluminum may be out.

Thanks.

I had a set of pipes on my Blackbird and I miss the sound. I ride with plugs 99% of the time and like the looks of the 2 Bros.

Ti for the win!

Coming from the cruiser world, I appreciate the quietness of the stock pipes, but I would buy the carbon fiber 2 Bros. exhaust if my stockers needed to be replaced.

Desty: Great pictures. Looks good. I am really torn between the 2. I think it may be time to get a woman's opinion.

Shutterbug: I'm leaning in that direction. Something about the CF pattern and the logo on the can I like.

I would recommend the 2 Bros Ti pipes. The CF that Two Brothers use has a very high resin content. That's why they are so smooth and glossy, well glossy when they are new anyway. As they age the shine fades as the UV attacks the surface. CF exhausts that have the slightly "bumpy" surface such as Arrow or Termignoni stand up to UV much better, mostly because they aren't 90% resin. But I'm sure they do not make mufflers for the ST1300. Another reason to consider Ti is that the cans on the ST are mounted very low and get a lot of exposure to the elements, Titanium is very corrosion resistant. Spray the salt/sand/gunk off and they look good as new, and will for a long time.

No, it's an 03 - *R275C - Candy Ambassador Red.

Edit: And it's THE fastest colour by far

I have an '06' Black with M2's Carbon. I am thinking about selling the M2's and going to the M5's Alum or the Staintune's. I love the sound and the performance gain of the TBM2's, but I am not jazzed about the color contrast of the carbon with the black paint. Others like the look, but I think I prefer the polished pipes better.

If anyone is interested in my M2's, I only have a couple of months on them and would entertain a reasonable offer. I will pay the freight.

The sound is louder than I expected, but I would not go back to stock.

Yes I have a power commander.

Now, before all the "experts" come out and tell me how the power commander doesn't do anything/fuel economy is just worse/causes global warming and the harming of baby seals...

I'm not going to waste $220+ doing a dyno session just to satisfy the nay-sayers here. I have, with friends, done a number of timed WOT runs over a set distance both with and without the power commander.

Over 440 metres, the WITH power commander runs were on average 1.3 seconds faster than the without. I did 5 runs in each direction so a total of 20 in all, and with minor variances in times, the average was 1.3 seconds faster. I still get around 19km/L and around 530km before I need* to refuel.

Apparently, the power commander doesn't work on ABS bikes, no idea why. It causes some sort of brief hesitation issue just of idle; I've never experienced this.

* When the display goes to double bars - less than 30km left in the tank.

Ok. I just installed the M5's Ti pipes from 2 Bros and without the baffles they sound great; not too loud at all. In fact, I'm surprised they are not louder. The fit and finish look great on the Red 05. Well worth the $780 from New Enough.

Overall, very pleased.
