Wow, all the usual suspects must've slept in. At any rate, there's a fresh pot of French roast in the machine waiting to be enjoyed by you, my friends.

It's a very foggy 43°F in Rockville and will likely remain foggy until late morning, which could make the first several holes of goof much more interesting than they already are. The high could reach 52- not quite as pleasant as yesterday afternoon but not objectionable either.

As you've doubtless already realized, goof is the main activity for today, preceded by uke practice and followed this evening by online card games with old friends.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Ay up, I've just put a pot of Dark Italian Roast on. Help ya'selves.
We've been out to a grey Berwick-upon-the-Tweed. I was mooching about for bargains in the drink aisle. Er'Indoors wasn't. Pffffffftttttt. Bushmills was the BOTD, it'd be rude not too.
Now what about the weather, cool and grey sums it up.
I'll keep the pot going for when you pop in.
Av a gud un and remember, it's only just begun until Noddy sings, "IT'S CHRISTMAS"!
Schhhh, Noddy, they're sleeping.
Upt.

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

I'm just running a day behind.

Lightly snowing here and -4. It'll pop up to +1 and may turn to some form of precipitation such as but not limited to: rain, freezing rain, drizzle, freezing drizzle, sleet, freezing sleet, ice pellets, hail, wet snow, snow.

Lots to do, never enough time.

Make the most of it, while ya still can.

Obo.

Hehe, thx Ray and Noddy!

A busy day, far too busy for me likings….pffffft!
Seven errands so far, and still counting.
That’s christmas for ya.

Now to pick up Peter in the kindergarten, and cook him som’at.
All right, Hot dogs coming up.

Just above freezing, calm, overcast.

Have a calm one!
Stu

G`Day...

3°C today, slight drizzle (AKA a few spritzer), a "sleet warning" for late afternoon...
In short: gray and cold... the humid weather draws the warmth outta your bones... kinda glad I'm an office dweller now...

I stocked up, Nespresso delivery is in da mail, 200 capsules make 100 mugs of morning mud, happy me...

At the office I managed to trace and locate my mug, ze "ground staff" (AKA cleaning lady) nicked it from my desk and hid it in a kitchen cabinet... sacrilege!!!

On the positive side did the panel van driver do his job and dropped off yesterdays order at "the big river"...
8 x 10 = 80 sachets = 40 mugs of office mud... <slurp!>... yesssss... all is vertical again...

IMG_20241210_093833.jpg

That'll keep me afloat over the holidays...

A sad note though: Chris won't make it this year...

have a good one...
cheers!

I was watching Mr Rea a couple of nights back on a repeat of Gone Fishing.
Of course, our Ted was in attendance.
TV Gold.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee, Keith.
And nice back-up, Ray!

It's foggy/cloudy and 30, staying dreary and rising to 35, later.
They're expecting more showers this evening. We'll see maybe 1/4" of rain.

Yesterday's events worked out.
I have clean clothes.
We ordered our new shower sliding door.
We did some Christmas shopping for the Grandkids.
Dinner.

I even got out to the "Outback" with the neighbor's dog. Kind of a mistake. There was still snow on the trail, which had turned to ice, where it had been trampled down. We came out unscathed, but it made for a shorter walk.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

I was watching Mr Rea a couple of nights back on a repeat of Gone Fishing.
Just located the DVD box set on Amazon... > € 60,-... steep... all 5 series though... would it be worth it?
(OTOH the Jesse Stone collection comes for € 111,-... )
By now Mr. Rea made it to her top favorites when my GF is raiding my CD racks...
The benefit of high end equipment, girls get interested in music :sneaky: ... and it makes atmospheric tracks like Auberge really enjoyable...
(... walking through the room, kicking the bottle, the piercing guitar intro, etc ... )

Good morning, everyone. Foggy and unsettled this morning, but I’m hoping two cups (Thanks Keith and Ray) will clear the head, so I can get on with the day.

I have 9:00 appointment at ortho clinic for pre-hab this morning, to get me in better shape for the hip surgery next month. Pfffttt. I’m in good shape…..Round is a shape. Right?…….Right?

59/61 are the temps for today. I believe the rain has moved on, since I could move most of the joints this morning.

Teddy says Hi.

Morning all! 4C here in paradise with a high of 7C to come. It's a mix of overcast and sun peeking over the horizon right now. The clouds will roll in later and then apparently roll back out to a certain extent by late afternoon.

Working from home today again. I think it's the contractors' last day to finish up some minor bits and bobs. The electrician and plumber completed their work yesterday. I've managed to clutter up the kitchen a bit but the remainder of the house lies before me. Challenge accepted! Let the mess begin....

Received a very cool gift for my birthday yesterday call the everything pan. So named because you can fry, saute, simmer, sear, roast, broil etc. in it. Plus, it looks very cool. Now that I have a kitchen to work in, it's time to get stuck in. Will have to comb recipes to find the perfect first dish.

John, round is definitely a shape, as is pear of which I resemble. Will have to work on seeing if I can achieve triangle....the one where the wide part is at the top.

Hope everyone has a great day and that it shapes up to be the one you want!

Morning, all. This consistent reportage of foul weather, and colder fouler weather yet, has migrated down to the hinterlands of Southeastern US of A. It's foul. Raining, storming, blowing, streets flooding, cars crashing... but no snow. Reckon I'm grateful for that, except I'd get to be home if it did. With plenty of firewood already stacked. And just enough brown water to last a couple of days, which is what our typical / atypical snow day does for Birmingham AL.

So I decided I would take advantage of the brief respite from the rain this morning to walk Kaiser, instead of sitting around on some device boring you with my musings, ramblings, occasional rantings, and the other nonsense you can normally expect from me.

So with Keith's French Roast and Ray's Italian Roast, I'm just feeling all kinds of continental already this morning. Your euro-style crap weather merely adds to the effect. pfffttt.

Yesterday the chainsaw stop bolt arrived, and I was able to install my new clutch and fix it. See? Told you I'd become a master at this. But as I didn't finish putting it all back together until 9:30 last night, and I like my neighbors, I decided it was not the best time to prove my success. This afternoon, once I'm home, and IN THE DARK, I'll fire it up and pour a drink to celebrate. With all the rain today and yesterday, maybe I can even postpone my assault on the damned demonic holly bushes another day, until tomorrow. One can hope...

Some have proposed stuffing some rope down the spark plug hole, and others have said that is not the best way to hold the piston in position. As my chainsaw is a 2-stroke, I have come to learn that some roping attempts have resulted in the piston skirt actually cutting the line / rope, leaving a small bit to interfere with normal operations of the suck > squeeze > bang > blow process. Knowing me, as I do so well, it would certainly be MY luck to have that detritus remain in the combustion chamber, requiring even more dismantling of this still-relatively-new cutting implement. So, again... new parts / new tools. What's not to like?

Have a good day, or as good as you can. And @Obo -- we'll be here when you can catch up.

The piston stop bolt, to be inserted into the empty spark plug hole (ebay, about eight bucks, saving me about $150 - $200 shop rate):

Morning Keith, Ray & All form sunny, but COLD, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 26F, up from 12F, (told you it was COLD!) and heading for 40F. A slight breeze now, later, the winds will be from the N@7 to 8mph.

Currently they are calling for snow on Christmas Eve. Let's hope it does come, it will make my grands kids (that will be visiting) very happy! :giggle-2x:

I got all the Christmas storage boxes put back up, and even cleaned up some of the tools I used with the shed project. Today, it looks like the sofa sectional will get moved around to spread the wear.

Eggs, bacon, English muffins & OJ to start the morning. pepsi(s) to come later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
