Roll up, roll up, the Italian Dark Roast is ready and it's good. Help ya'selves.
Mild, dry and bright. Strange weather indeed. We should bob along at about 50 all day long.
Got the scrub over the back cut and raked away from the fence yesterday, strange thing to do in January but I didn't even get damp.
Climate change, it makes ya think dun'it, I'd rather be a climate winner than loser in these uncertain climatic times. But in balance it might just be the weather. I wonder what weather our 'Whiskers' is enduring today.
Er'Indoors is already away to Jumpy Up and Down Class at Berwick-upon-the-Tweed, she went off whistling........must get that aux belt tightened. There's always some'at don't you think?
A fella from Hawick in the Borders wants to sit on a L7 or later VSTrom, I've told him to call in when he makes his mind up. Don't try to pronounce Hawick, it won't be good, I was also received instruction recently on how to pronounce Loch. I don't know why they thought I cared, ignorance is bliss don't ya know.
Av a gud un and remember, pronunciation is for those that can be arsed.
Upt.

Greetings and Happy Tuusday to youse.
A fine brew @Upt' North (however you pronounce it) - thanks for stirring the pot!
I appreciate the birfday greetings yesterday - awww shucks - thank ye!
I'm glad to see yer all here and providing merriment to this world.

Life here on the farm is, well - too cold for tractorin', dirt movin' and such.
Ugh! Not a fan of ole man Winter.

Been spending my time chasing deers all over the place.
They have eaten my plants, my grass, and are continually making mayhem.
Where's @Whisker Bill? - need some thinnin'

Y'all have a wonderfilled day!

even the Grays know...

G'Day,

-4/+2°C today, biting cold, but the winds have also cleared most of the overcast, partially sunny, hence a mars like, pink-orange hue sunrise with gray-blueish skies above zis morning... spooky...

Dull routine, get up, turn on that stereo, preheat the Nespresso, void ze bladder, delight on 1/2 of my cup, wake that "comatose" GF, finish & rinse the cup, wash my snot, get dressed, see my GF off, car, commute, arrive at office at the b_crack of dawn... get my 2nd, instant dose of Joe...
Important to leave home before 0700hrs, the drivers out then are more attentive and competent... at like 0715hrs onward all the irrational acting zombies appear, causing havoc and gridlock...
The crack in the windscreen has seized to grow; ~3" long now, vertical... no use of gluing such...

Calm day, finished all tasks yesterday, idling...
Compared spares on my stock list with the fiche, should have all avail to work on my GF's NT700 next weekend... we'll see...
Intend to test out some tools I've obtained in the past, like the expanding head-bearing remover, supposed to grip on that outer races in the head-stock, easing removal...
practice makes perfect...

have a good one!

good morning all. thanks Ray for the coffee. 33F on the dog walk with a bright full moon at the 12 O'clock position that washed out the stars. you could only make out a few here and there. there was a slight breeze to chill the air. it helps when you can dress for it, so all in all a nice walk.
today is electric blanket buying trip. so we will see where that puts us. some where around a restaurant for lunch out I hope. the high should see 59F enjoy the day.

stay safe

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Ray.

-11 and snowing, headed to -1 and snow showers. How do they come up with these names?

Went to see a new band called "Duvet" last evening. No surprise, it was a cover band.

Hope you all have a super day!

Obo.

Good morning all!
Thank you for the lovely start Ray!

We’re just arriving in St Kits.
I took a few pics of what has appeared in our port side balcony window.

Presently 77F, very sunny & bright.
Not one snowflake in sight!
I’m hoping we don’t have to swim ashore!
BTW
If you get a chance, I recommend this ship, the Celebrity Apex!
It’s the best this ole landlubber’s set foot on!
Not that I’m a seasoned sailer! Pfffft!

Not responsible for any and all alcohol consumed!

Thx Ray!

No sleep last night, I blame the moon.

Yesterdays fillets have been transferred to fishcakes.
I’m a magician!

Now to fix the rest of todays meal, then a shower, then pick up Mrs Stu, and together we’ll pick up Peter.
Magicians are very busy people it seems.

8˚c/46f, showers, a little breeze from somewhere.

@Whisker Bill That mountain looks like a volcano…shure it’s safe? You best have another drink to calm your nerves.

Have a good one!
Stu

Thank you Ray. It's 42°, going to 68° here in Spring Valley. The SoCal tag has been moved. I thought about taking it up to Torrance to the Honda Headquarters, but the smoke from the fires is still bad enough move the Scheduled NFL play off game to Arizona. Ciao.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian dark, Ray. And welcome back from hiatus, @nicksacco! Hope you'll hang around for a while.

It's 24°F and clear in Rockville, or so I'm told. Haven't been out to confirm. Oh, and with a feels-like of -3°F I ain't goin' out. Leastways, not afore I haf'ta.

Have to I will eventually, because at 0830 hours local time I have an appointment with my torturer dentist, for what I hope will be just a routine cleaning. After that, Mrs. Fun and I are off to Japan (well okay, the Ambassador's residence) for a couple hours, to help them see in the Lunar New Year in proper style. I feat it will require clothing more formal than jeans and a sweatshirt.

Yesterday afternoon I made good on my threat to get some of that clear heat shrink plastic window insulation stuff. So far I've done a half dozen windows, leaving me about a dozen more to do. And that's just the upstairs, plus the two in our bedroom in the basement. I don't think I'll do the other downstairs windows- they're harder to get at, and don't affect the thermostat as much since heat rises and the thermostat's sensor is on the upper level of the house.

I did find, while measuring the office windows, that one reason I could feel a draft was that the window by my desk wasn't actually closed properly. It's hard to get at and the upper half is tough to get fully seated, so the weather stripping and seal between upper and lower halves wasn't able to do its job as well as it could. The window's now closed correctly and fully but it still admits chilly air so it's definitely on the to-do list for today.

Other than all that, and uke practice, My day's pretty much empty. Oh, except since we depart for SE Asia in just a week it's time to get started on laundry. Not that anything I plan to take (except undercrackers) has been worn recently, but just because the hamper's full. Our visas for Vietnam arrived yesterday so we're all set, I think. Mrs. Fun had a moment of angst yesterday, thinking we had left a one day gap in our itinerary. Then, when she reexamined things in more detail, she discovered that it takes three days to get from here to Bangkok, not just the two she had imagined. Crisis averted.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good Morning and thank you for the coffee. Quite a pleasant morning at 7c and beginning to see some sun. Today brings a visit this lunchtime from our daughter, new grandaughter and their Romanian Thug Cleo (4yr old Romanian Rescue dog - she's lovely until she's not when she meets a dog she dislikes!).

At some point I've got to get around to swapping the wheels for the winter tyres before our drive to Norway, not difficult, but I have to move the outfit and one solo out of the garage to get the wheels off the wall

There have been many discussions on here about changing headlight bulbs, I do it the easy way, screen and garnish off.. easy peazy... However, yesterday I was fitting uprated Osram main beam bulbs to my Dacia Duster.... simple eh! 2hrs later, and with no skin left on my knuckles, success... who on earth designed the access to make it such a tight space. In the process I dislodged both headlight adjuster wires, they are like the old clutch cables with a nipple that has to go back in a slot..... putting those back in a tiny confined space.... yee gods

Morning all! Wide awake after letting the dogs out for their what now appears to be nightly 3 am ablutions. I'm going to have to find some way to stop the treadmill turning given that the hamsters just won't give up. It's dark, 4C with a predicted high of 6C and possibly some sun this afternoon. Right now, it looks like cloudy and overcast but strangely luminous likely due to a full moon.

All this talk of vacations reminds me that we haven't had a proper one in about 6 years due to Covid and various familial related reasons. We've been elsewhere but not just for pure fun. I think that needs to be remedied and will need to give it some thought. The world they say is your oyster but I'm not big on seafood so maybe it's a medium rare steak? A bbq chicken pizza? Who knows but I seem to now be peckish which is a pain given that I keep bruising my nose on the kitchen counter.....sleep deprivation, it's akin to having had a few drinks they say and given these ramblings, they seem to be right. Whoever they are of course. They could at least wipe their metaphorical feet before taking up residence in my cranium.

I best head back to bed and see if I can get a couple more hours before making the trek to the salt mines as my dad used to say.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning, all, and thanks for the Italian Dark, Ray! (Though, a Dark Italian might be interesting as well)

We got quite a bit of snow yesterday, it was pretty "blizzardy" there, for a while. There's more on the way today; the flakes should start falling just after noon and stop around 10 p.m. Doesn't look like the temperature will move an inch today: it currently sits at -4°C/25°F with a feels-like of -11°C/12°F, and there it will stay.

Good to see you, Nick!
Brian, enjoy St. Kitts.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning, everyone. Thanks, Ray.

19/44 and sunny. Can’t complain. Nearly all of the snow has gone, but the cold is sticking around. I’m thinking that it’s time to put a big pot of chili on the stove, although the thought of chicken and dumplings is in a strong second place. Pffftt. Let’s make both! I’m sure Theodore won’t mind.

Stay warm

John

Ordeals like this always make me appreceate my '96 Toyota... so much space in there, nothing corroded shut, designed by folks who considered access & replacement...
Besides that it only blows a bulb like once every ten years...

BTW: that mutt looks like a Malinois, notorious for requiring a lot of occupation/constant training... or is it a large Coyote? ;)

A quick one from m e today. -4/24 here upon wake-up. Too many e-mails and electronic errands to do to get out the door on time. Not worth going in-office now. If only they would let us drink stuff stronger than coffee there... Ppl are safer with me at home today anyways. TC y'all!

Morning Ray & All from sunny, BUT COLD, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 25F, up from 13F and heading for 38F with no winds now, but later, from the NE @ 4 to 18 mph.

Well, Chris left me! Yep, she just couldn't take the pressure any longer. Her BGF kept bugging her about coming north for a Quilt retreat, and I knew she really wanted to go. So, with my encouragement, Chris contacted her friend here, to see if she wanted to go too, which she did. Chris took off @10AM to pick up her friend here and then drive north to Springville, (UT), about 50 miles south of Salt Lake. So you know what that means? NO ADULT SUPERVISION for the rest of the week. :run1:

I wonder what kind of trouble I can get into? :unsure-2x:

She should be home by Saturday!

My SENA 50S dual sets came in yesterday, so I fitted my good helmet with the new speakers and got both units set up with my phone and the Zumo XT GPS. So I am set for any rides in my future. Solo or group! :thumbsup-2x:

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) will come later!

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
