Thursday November 7th Café.

Morning Ray & All from a sunny, but COLD, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 31F, up from 17F and heading for 44F. We have a slight breeze and later, the winds will pick up from the N @ 10 to 14mph.

@Peppermint : Patty, you got to do what is good for you. Nobody else will watch out for you! I hope you can find something that is less stressful for you. I know it has taken me a lifetime to finally find my job, and it's called retirement! ;) And to tell you the truth, one year before I was retired, I didn't think I'd ever be able to! :)

With the Sun out, it might get warn enough for me to go out and continue on the shed. We'll see, if the wind doesn't keep it too cool.

Lazyman's breakfast. Pepsi(s) to the rescue, later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Good morning, all, and thanks for the start-up, Ray.

Sadly, I think I'll have to forego the coffee this morning as I seem to be suffering from a rather unpleasant gastric ailment that's been plaguing me for the last couple of days. Not sure what's caused it, but I suspect that too much stress and angst might be partly to blame. Alas, I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that my current job, which was supposed to be my last stint until I retire (and the job that would allow me to eventually do is), is not a good fit for me. If you look up expressions like "stress-related illness," "send (one) to an early grave," "drive one to drink," etc., I'm pretty sure this job description will pop up. Really don't need this at this point in my life. So now, I have to start seriously looking...again. Sigh. One step forward and three back, and all that. Oh, well. Onward and upward, I guess.

I'm seeing an overcast sky right now, but the rest of the day is supposed to be mainly sunny with a high of 10°C/50°F with a feels-like of 7°C/45°F.

@STooRay: That is a spectacular shot!
@Obo: I kind of like the Monterey Blue Pearl. The black's OK (my car is black - only colour they had at the time), but it shows all the dirt and is hot in the summer. And I'm surprised you have the "manual" option; I didn't think anyone made manual transmission vehicles anymore! Stick shift has always been my preference - I was very disappointed when they pretty much went the way of the dodo.

Everyone have a good one, stay safe and go safely. And quit getting sick (that includes me). Feel better, everybody.

Patty
Peppermint, me duck, I'm no life coach......I know it amazes me too.
But, is it time for a complete change from what you do now?
I know your skills are many and true, there must be some'at that would fill your day in a more enjoyable way.
Just sayin.
Life's too blummin short, but you already knew that. I hear Obo's looking for a vehicle advisor. The pay's crap though and the jokes are even worse.
Good luck Pepps.

Morning all! It's a sunny day with some scattered high cirrus which means the rain cannot be far behind. It's 7C with a predicted high of 13C.

The dog walk went off without a hitch this morning. I ascribe that to change of venue back to the regular haunt. It's a gorgeous park located on land owned by the Centre for Plant Health, a federal government research facility, who are building a brand new building right next door. Anyways, it's a great place to walk a dog with beautiful views and landscaping.

Obo, I like the black and the blue.....the cars I mean. I actually quite like the red accent. The GLI is a sleeper car, I understand great handling and decent grunt.

Patty, good luck with the search, I'm sorry the current gig hasn't turned out like you had hoped.

Hope everyone has a great day!

@Peppermint : Patty, you got to do what is good for you. Nobody else will watch out for you!

@Peppermint so sorry to hear this gig isn't what you thought / hoped it would be, especially after the last fiasco. But Bob's definitely right: nobody will look out for your interests as well as you would. Ray's also right: there are so many things you could do, don't limit yourself to what you're doing now.

Thanks for the cup 'o Joe, Ray. Much needed.

It's a gloomy day today. The kind that makes me want to stay in bed. The time change isn't helping. I can't get to sleep until 2 AM and then can't get up.

I watched a couple episodes of the original Bob Newhart Show late last evening. Still funny after all these years.

Still struggling with website woes. The wheels turn slowly with tech support. Very frustrating for someone like me with a patience deficit disorder.

I have to go and get the wife's car inspected and get a new sticker. Texas needs to drop this requirement yesterday, but they need the revenue in order to generate gainful employment for their friends and family.
