Throttle Lock

Lots of options -
Cheapest is the Caterpillar O-Ring -

There's a NEP -

and Vista Cruise -

and Roll on -

And Breakaway -

just to mention a few options.

One vote for GoCruise (the metal one).
Make that 2. I love the Go-Cruise. Installation couldn't be easier. Operation is also very easy very efficient operation and a plus – you can increase throttle temporarily and return to your initial setting as second nature. Easily and quickly transferrable from bike to bike.

Kaoko is what I use on my '98 1100A , but the install can be a bit of a pain.

Do all these work with the ST1300 too? O my back to back 300+ days I realized I need something to give me a break on the freeway.
Thanks, John

If the handlebars are 7/8" like the ST1100, they should. At that price, you're not out a lot for trying one.
There was a seller on EBay that was selling 10 of them for $4.95 - including shipping.
Those particular O-rings don't tend to degrade in sunlight.

Another vote for the GoCruise. I've tried the standard lock type and a Throttlemeister... the GoCruise is the simplest and easiest to use IMO.

I installed the Go Cruise today! Pretty cool and easy to use. I did have an "oh no" moment when I exited the freeway when I forgot to purposefully roll off the throttle instead of just letting it go.
While my freeway blast was a bit undulating, I did get the chance to make small adjustments to the speed - up and down. I think I like it!
My reservation is the space it takes on the grip along with my crampbuster and winter golves (it was 40 degrees on my ride) as it felt a bit tight on space. But I think that will come with more miles. So far so good!

^^ Here’s my setup...I ordered my heated grips 10 mm too short, so I made lemonade from the lemons...I use my Go Cruise in the little recess between the inside of the grip and the right hand instruments.

Congratulations on your newest farkle. I had a Vista Cruise on a number of my bikes but except for one there was always some cutting and fitting to be done.

When it came time for the ST to get a throttle lock the Go-Cruise was near the top of the list of options but was a tad pricy for the metal version compare to the plastic Vista Cruise.

Then at the PIM show in San Mateo (RIP) a guy was selling them for only slightly more than the Vista Cruise. Installation was very easy and operation absolutely intuitive. I did the roll on without resetting without even realizing it. It was only when dduelin mention that years after I got it that I realized that's what was happening.

I've never been in the habit of releasing the throttle to slow. Having a Vista Cruise for years meant keeping my fingers on the grip while using my thumb to release the Vista. It's always been a controlled roll off so no "oh no!" moment on that front. When the GC is engaged I never feel it on any acceleration and while it's tight enough to hold the throttle open it's almost never felt when I roll off the gas and it goes to a neutral position. A great piece of kit that pays for itself every ride.
