Throttle Lock installation when heated grips

I had a ST1300 2004 with heated grips. Planning to install throttle lock, propably Vista Cruise. I am a little bit worried about to damage the grips: is there a way to install Vista Cruise without removing the grips ?
What about the Throttle Meister, can you install it without removing grips ?

If not, good ideas to remove grips easily when there are the heating elements ?

Charlie, do you know if the Thottlemeister friction sleeve goes betw. the rubber grip and the throttle sleeve when you install it?
 
Thanks Rob,,that means I am going to either move the element in some, or, try to slip the throttlemeister sleeve over the end of the element somehow. I know the element is paper thin, but I might have a problem unless I tear the grip off and relocate the element. Time will show.
