There's always the Wedhumpnesday Café.

He wants the paper versions, maybe.
Those were handed out at site to the office-inhabitants during commissioning and handover... sooo...

Nah, it was as described: the knucklehead clicked on the attached *.pdf, saw [S-Klima]* on the first page, but missed the [Mitsubishi Heavy Industries] text and logo on the second...
(* STULZ is the European importer/distributor for MHI equipment, hence they put their header on each document...)

Good morning, Thanks for Coffee and comics, too many thoughts about the postings this morning, mostly laughing at them, keep up the good work. Yeah I need to laugh more, don't we say laughter is the best medicine. Agenda for today, eyeball exam, Don't remember the last time I had a eye exam. Want to get new Glasses,a treat for surviving cancer.
Weather, Cloudy and cold, -6 C / 21 F warming up to 0 C / 32 F wind 9 mph from the great white north. Have fun,G

...when someone requests something stupid via email, accidentally send it to them 50 times in a row.
And BTW: you do remember fax machines, don't you?

BTDT: scotch-taped two pages together, prepped the end of the second with more scotch-tape, punched [send] and taped it all to a loop... signed: [here I come again ->]...

Yeah, they were kinda peeved and we had to buy them a new roll of thermo paper afterwards...

Morning all! It's a winter wonderland out there; we have about a 1-1.5 feet of snow on the ground and it's -2C/-7C out right now. I think they have finally managed to clear most of the major roads. We don't tend to get snow so the municipalities don't have large removal budgets and it can take some time to get everything cleared and back to normal.

My wife came through surgery on her femur fracture with flying colours and was doing well when I left the hospital last night. I swear to god she must have been a drill sergeant in a past life because she is tough, arriving back in her room cracking jokes and laughing about scoring multiple popsicles in the recovery room. Next...comes the recovery.....

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning y'all, needing coffee bad today so thanks for the Joe! In office again, had to drive in today due to impending "winter weather"...dont feel like dealing with sleet and freezing rain later on. 38F/3C here and supposed to drop all day.

Nothing else to report. And I just want to get thru today. Take care y'all!

Morning Ray & All from another :wind1: day in Southern Utah!

And they are telling us the winds will continue through Friday! :cautious:

Currently it is 52F, heading for 57F with the winds out of the SSW @ 10 to 14mph and later up to 30mph.

I got nothing done on the bike yesterday, I had to go into town two different times. I did get the truck washed, so that was a good thing.

Today, I'm dragging the hoses out and I'll water the pine trees. With these temps and all this winds, I'm sure they would like some water.

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ. Pepsi(s) to come later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

I remember teletype machines.

I've used one of them, last job of the day, which was 6am, was to roll the tape up and store it away in date order.
Oh the good'ol days. It's probably around 43 years ago. We used them for sending daily reports and receiving messages about just about owt. Including the weather, nothing changes. Still talking about the weather.

While I never worked on Teletype machines, I started, in the US Air Force on computers in October 1970. One side job I had was to load 6' trays of computer cards into card readers. Don't dare drop one of those trays, or you would spend the next couple of hours, re-sorting those cards to get them back into the proper order! :censored:

Afternoon all......

I swear you all get up way too early...... Thanks anyway for the now cold coffee.... Who's job was it to brew freshly fresh..?? :well1:

Oh wait, calm down Todd, it's the day after your birthday dummy. That is why you slept in till 10am....

Overcast and 25 degrees here with possible snow this evening. Short walk to the mail box was enough walk for me.

Time for lunch.......... Go have a happy hump day,
T

It's worse than you think: I'm posting this at 0605 Thursday morning Hanoi time...

Here in Hanoi it's 60°F and drizzling a bit but the hotel restaurant has supplied me with coffee so all is well.

More later, once the Thursday thread has begun for the rest of the world.

Named Telex over here...
Had such at my first workplace on the 80ies... ran parallel to the fax for a while...
So together with the box for the early business telephone system and the reel-to-reel answering machine that backroom looked like the command center of a CIA safe house...
