The day is Sunday, a day of rest, pffffffftttttt.
The Italian Dark Roast is ready, the Buttermilk Pancakes and our own stewed garden fruits are good too. Mascarpone if you like, Canadian grade A to pour. A Canadian Grade A what though?
The first day of GMT has started well enough, sun, still trees, mild, nice.
I think it'll be a steady one, but you know what thought did.
Av a gud un and remember, it's only five months until BST. Pffffffftttttt.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian roast Ray, and for the breakfast goodies that accompany it.

Body clock all over place this morning, coffee most welcome…..

Yeah me too, thanks to the combined effects of continued jet lag, an old bladder, and the ever-present mind hamsters.

It's 41°F and clear in Rockville, slated for a high around just 57 with sun. There's a freeze warning from 0200 tomorrow morning until 0900, covering my area. Pffffft.

Here's an unhappy picture:

We've got one more week of daylight savings time before the clocks must be reset to an hour earlier. Pfffftfft.

The so-called "Halloween House" next door has erupted in a welter of yard decorations once again, though not as elaborately and extensively as in years past. He's getting older, feels like he's done his thing, and is taking flak from his missus for the amount of storage all the stuff requires. Next year and 2026 put Halloween on a Friday and a Saturday; he's saying that those will be big years and then it'll come to an end for good. We'll see.

Both sisters-in-law remain in residence for the day. They'll depart eventually, but in the meantime the general tranquility and routine of the house are disrupted. It's not a bad thing, just different, and it keeps Mrs. Fun occupied. They've been trying to work out the final details of the upcoming enshrinement of their mother's remains alongside those of their father, in Arlington National Cemetery. Evidently they have different visions of how all of that should play out, along with the accompanying social events and attendant catering, hospitality needs, and whatnot. I'm laying low and keeping out of sight during the brawl discussion.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

G'Day...

woke up way too early... bloody time change made it even worse...

13°C/55°F, cloudy, fog, drizzle... very autumnal... 2 months till Xmas...

much of coffee, baked beans, scrambled eggs and mini bratwursts with self baked bread... I'm stuffed...

GF busy cleaning kitchen, already installed some Halloween deco in the garden...

I however plan to turn her entire house into a jack o lantern... :sneaky:

But for now I'll vanish into the basement to give Santa and Rudolph their pre-flight checks...

Thx Ray, good stuff after a late night!

Yesterdays dinner with «friends» was ok-ish.
Very pleased with the food.
I was outside grilling the meat in heavy rain and 40mph wind (and a beer).
A picture was taken, and now I’m viral she says……pffffft!

Woke up early, and have been for a walk in the hills.
Leftovers for dinner.

12˚c/54f, 30mph wind, overcast, showers, glimpse of sun.

Have a good one!
Stu

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee and creeps...er, crepes, Ray! (Sorry, Halloween brain)

It's a chilly one: 2°C/36°F with a windchill of -1°C/30°F right now, going to a high of 8°C/46°F, which will feel like 4°C/39°F. Mix of sun and clouds and, thankfully, no rain. I'll be out in it, but will be moving, so hopefully, keeping warm. I'll be joining my hiking/ski club for the first hike of the fall season in a couple of hours. We'll do a 7-9 km loop on a very lovely trail with no major uphills (we always do an easy trail for the first hike). I'm looking forward to it; I've been sitting in front of a computer for far, far too long.

OK, gotta finish gathering my stuff and getting ready. Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee and goodies, Ray.

I saw 30 degrees during the ride to the house this morning, and the Weather Underground says that the current temp is 33.
It's sunny, though, and the temp should rise to 54 or so.

Yesterday, we did some shopping, both online and in line for our oldest granddaughter's B'day presents.
We went on to other shopping, and then dinner at a local restaurant.
After Brenda left for the hotel, I installed the new Fire Stick that arrived, yesterday.

Today, I haven't anything of significance planned.
If Brenda gets here soon, we may go to breakfast at Carl's.
She gave me a hall pass for some riding, though...
I've go to unearth the power dongle for the Gerbings, as well. I wore them back to the hotel, yesterday, but it was only an extra layer, since the power cord is hidden behind a side panel.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Thanks for the coffee Ray, I'm glad to say my heated gear is wired and fired. (Only because that rhymes.) I even know exactly where it is, I only need plug it in when needed.

Acorns are dropping like little bombs, and i can't get my car out of their way unless I block Roz in. I blow off the driveway every day... and the leaves are still hanging on up there to. Oh joy.

My chainsaw is ready to accept its new clutch and housing, except for one thing... I can't get the nut off the old one. Even tried an impact drill. Frustrating. And that was before I dropped the old cage needle bearings in the dirt. They are fine, I was only going to use the actual clutch from the package if all new parts. I'll have to use the new nearing cage now, because I had just pulled boiled the old ones which "were" in perfect shape. Now it's filled with grit, even after a healthy bath of WD40.

Off to church now, to be the video switcher. Y'all can finish up the nice Black Rifle i made, just lock up as you leave.

Thank you!

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Ray. 65F on the walk with stars and a small slice of moon tagging along. clouds turned out to be a no show so just clear sky for the back drop. didn't get much done yesterday so I will try to do it today. I don't mind Wal-Mart at 7/8am on a Sunday morning. but now I need to add another stop at Auto Zone to see if they have a Wix 57356 oil filter for the ST.

last night we had dinner with the wife's sister and BIL. On the way home in our 2025 forester we bought back in July a stone came from some were and chipped the windshield. wife was driving and she just went off in a string of words that made this old sailor proud. wow I guess that stone chip upset you I said. it was a quiet ride the rest of the way home. Monday I'll call Subaru and insurance and start the ball rolling. our high should see 95F. enjoy the day

stay safe

Young Edward of Tuscon.
It has come to my attention that you are hogging the f's. You have 95 (!) for goodness sake.
Please redistribute them more evenly. Poor old Sadlsor has put a cardigan on, Stoo is freezing in outer Norway cooking outside and I.....well I'd like a few more please.
Please don't tell your wife, we don't want to upset er.
Thank you in advance.

Good Morning, thanks for the coffee Ray and STinner for the cartoons. Plans for today ,see if Lady's battery is charged up and hopefully start her. Andy(best friend) tried sitting on her , didn't like the riding position, handle bars to far away. So he's thinking of getting a older Goldwing,2000ish so he can put in on collector plates. After the fitting went to start Lady but battery to low no start ,ugh! Depending on my body might install the steering coupler in the Van.
Weather 51F high 54F cloudy, windy, with showers. Have a great day! G

Good afternoon all!
Thanks for the hot start Ray!
We were out with friends for breakfast this morning. (our power was off on a planned outage)
We could use a few extra Fs here too! We only have 50 of em!
It appears that we’ll have to wait a bit to start our migration south, too many things left to do and I’m deer hunting next week, so I’ll grin & bare it!
Enjoy what’s left of your Sunday!

Afternoon Ray & All from an overcast day in Southern Utah!

Currently it is cloudy and sitting @ 71F,and heading for 74F. The winds have already kicked up, coming from the SSW @ 11mph. More to be expected and we could see the second SNOW of the season on Tuesday.

I had enough energy left over to frame up that last section for the shed pad.

20241026_last-framing2.jpg

I might have to redo that center re-bar, and then I might not. But it is ready for the last section of concrete. This section will be 8x9. That will give me a 25 foot pad, which will leave 5 feet as an entry pad.

Church today and my Adult Supervisor still hasn't shown up yet, but I'm sure she will be here soon enough, to let me know what I was supposed to do, while she was out playing! :cautious:

Breakfast & Lunch are done with and a Pepsi was in the middle of the later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
