Good morning everyone

There's still some French roast in the pot, and I can make more pretty quickly, so there's no reason to hold back. Come and get your hot!

It's just 47°F in Rockville, so the hot coffee is a Good Thing right now. Later we expect a high around 71, with sun.

Mrs. Fun returns to the fold around midday. Other than that there's no real news.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, all. Thanks, Keith.

It’s cool here, also. 51 degrees made me put on long sleeves, while feeding the birds of the deck, of course Teddy loves the cool breeze. Predicted high of 71.

Nothing planned for today, except for tinkering on the neighbors lawnmower. If I don’t keep it running, he’ll be wanting to borrow mine. Gotta replace the voltage regulator and the battery. Right now it’s charging at 25 volts! All the steering components are bone dry and creaking, so a little grease is required. At least it won’t be too warm in the garage.

Be safe out there

John

Decent weather again today, high of 80 with 10% rain chances. Thanks for the coffee, Keith!

I'm only up at this hour because I'm pushing buttons at church this morning, and I didn't get my nap out. I could easily press the sheets another couple of hours.

Yesterday was ultra- relaxed, and I never left the house except to drive the John Deere around the front and back yards. The weed eater may get a few spins today after church, and it may not. There is no sense of urgency... is that bad?

I do have a new surging issue on the mower, though. It's like a Harley rider stopped at a traffic light next to you, when he looks over at you and revs his motor over and over, seemingly to annoy you. (OK, in fairness, and not to discriminate against all other annoying loud pipes afficionados, it could just as easily be a sport bike rider...) The mower does NOT have loud pipes, I'll have you know, i was merely trying to use an example you could relate to.

But it is very regular, meaning the rpms rise and fall in very distinct, quick intervals. Like, it's in 4/4 time, about 120 beats per minute. A ukulele student could grasp that description.

So anyway, I haven't tackled that yet. What do y'all think? Fuel pump maybe? Or fuel filter? I only run non-ethanol in it, the engine has less than 30 hours on it, and once I replaced the starter solenoid at the first of the year it has run great, and been very reliable. But the regularity of the surging could almost remind me of a lumpy camshaft, but the sound is not nearly that rapid. It is so evenly timed, a fuel filter doesn't seem likely.

And the gas in it can't be more than 2 weeks old, if that. Guess i could check for water in the fuel, but again... the evenness of this engine speed issue is really curious.

Hmm. Now that I've run this thread off the (fuel) rails, I need to get the bike out and get to church. Y'all enjoy the fine brew Keith has set before you.

And if you're planning to play your ukulele, don't forget to trim your fingernails.

EDIT: it took me so long to post mine, John has come and gone. How timely. Wonder if he had any ideas?

Well, Princess #2's bladder once again ruins any chance of sleeping in today. Never mind she spends FOREVER outside the night before we go up to bed, sniffing everything but doing nothing. So, I was up at 0730 and drinking coffee by 0732 for the safety and benefit of said princess. Thank you for the joe, Keith!

49F/9.5C and supposed to get to about 70 I think today after the rain rolled through. A good soak but not a deluge. Today will be occupied by tinkerings and some more basement cleanup to get an old fridge moved out for recycling.

@Sadlsor usually a surging engine is a sign of an air leak like a loose or ripped gasket. Give the carb and manifold some spritzes of carb spray to find it.

Take care y'all!

Good morning, all, and thanks for the hot brew, Keith!

It is greatly appreciated this morning, as the weather can only be described as "cold and soggy." It's currently 3°C/27°F with a feels-like of -1°C/30°F (it's nearly May, for crying out loud), but fortunately, the rain/wet snow mix that was falling earlier has turned to light rain. Unfortunately, that will change to heavy rain very soon, which is supposed to dump about 26 mm (just over an inch) of water on us within a couple of hours. Looks like the rain gods will take pity on us, though, and stop all that nonsense by noon or so. We should then have a mix of sun and clouds and a high of 16°C/61°F this afternoon.

And that's about all I've got. Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

At my friend's place yesterday we could see and feel a cool front sweep through. It got breezy, and in the space of about 10 minutes a half inch of rain poured down. Peak rate was about 7"/hour but that lasted only about 5 minutes.

Before the front it was warm and quite humid; after it passed it was 10-15 degrees cooler and noticeably less humid.

Good morning, thanks Keith for coffee. Sadlsor check the governor system, sounds like grass has gotten in under the flywheel. Also the spring may have come off. 45 F high of 60 F in the afternoon. Partly Cloudy with Sun in the afternoon. Grocery store run this morning, out of Cheerios, juice, Herb and Garlic cream cheese for on crackers, probably have forgotten something else. Yesterday took a ride on Lady around the Airport, about two miles, I deam myself fit to ride,so payday insurance goes on. Have a wonderful Sunday,G

Funny...

I don't post photos of other people's children on the internet but the story's a good one.

Sometime last year or maybe the year before, Mrs. Fun and I were having breakfast at our favorite local cafe. I was wearing the same hat as today, and it absolutely fascinated a youngster of maybe 5 years in the booth behind us.

He eventually came over and I put the hat on him, delighting him and making his mother very pleased. We've seen them a few times since then, and it's obvious that they're always pleased to re-encounter us.

They came in just as I was finishing up today. The lad's face lit up and he ran over to give me a hug. Mom smiled broadly. I like this.

Morning all! Another sunny blue sky day. That changes tomorrow so the plan is to get out and enjoy it while it lasts. 8C now, the high will be 15C which is seasonal but low compared to the last couple of days.

Had a successful run to the garden centre yesterday and picked up 5 japanese maples along with assorted other plants. Probably can surmise what the rest of the day holds in store. I may have to make a quick trip back to the garden centre for mulch as I didn't get enough for planting the trees. We're going to plant them along the side yard as a screen from the neighbours with the chickens and damnably loud rooster, but also to provide a pop of colour against some evergreens.

Hope everyone has a great day and plants plants, not faces!

any other day a medical necessity..."

G'Day...

6°/17° C today, sunny, blue skies, comfortably cool...

GF's NT700VA got a new set of T32's, Moly on the splines, cleaned the calipers, flushed/replaced brake fluid...

She's happy, cornering sooo smooth again...
(the worn set showed some cupping, rear grew a flat spot...)

Back home, feet up, couch time, another cup of :coffee:... BOSCH: LEGACY is on...

have a good one!

Morning Keith & All from mixed Sun & clouds in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 43F, up from 39F and heading for 53F. We're expecting a storm to the north, which means no rain for us. We could us a bunch more! :pray1:

I braved the winds yesterday and took the AZ05 frame out to the side of the house and cleaned it up. So it's pretty much ready for it's new engine. As soon as I get the engine ready, that is. I'm getting close. Maybe this week, since I'll be alone all week.

Chris is leaving tomorrow and won't be back until next Monday. A whole week and no Adult Supervision! :hat3:

May is going to be a crazy month for us. Midway, we have one of our grand daughter's graduation from high school in Northern Utah. Then at the end of the month, we'll be in Montana for another grand daughter's graduation. That one, I'll be hauling my :bl13: up to my son, so he'll have a "good" bike to ride for our August Montana ride. And a good possibility I'll be hauling his 05 ST1300 back with me to work on.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast and OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) later.

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Afternoon all!
Thanks for the start Keith!

We had a full day yesterday!
We drove to Kitchener & met with my friends (ours now) for the afternoon and a great dinner, then attended a retirees function for the evening. Landed back home @ 12:30 AM after a 3 hour drive home.
I’m lethargic today!
Oh, it’s 54 F (todays high) very sunny with a WNW breeze.
Thankfully the tree work is all completed.
Just the sawdust left to cleanup.
Enjoy your Sunday!
