Good morning everyone
There's fresh hot French roast in the pot for you. Fun fact: when you visit a Vietnamese home, you'll be offered tea. Pay attention as it's poured: the closer to the cup the pot is held, the less time the host has for you. Pouring from a great height therefore indicates that you're welcome to stay a good long while.
I'm pouring your coffee from atop a step stool with the pot just below my kitchen ceiling, and your cup is on the floor.
It's 31°F and clear (supposedly; I've not confirmed that personally) in Rockville, feels like 25 but is expected to crest around 49. The first tentative signs of spring? Let's hope so.
Having put off pretty much all of life's tasks for the past week, today feels like it might be a day where I have to get back into things. Laundry, light grocery shopping, maybe even bring in the outdoor holiday lights. Maybe not though, no need to be crazy and rush things, is there?
Uke practice must of course come first and take precedence over all other things. Except drinking my coffee, that is. Here's a shout out to the new friend I made while overseas: she had a carbon fiber / polycarbonate travel ukulele with her, and generously and graciously made it available to me quite frequently. It was great to be able to slow the rate at which my "skills" atrophied and deteriorated.
Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.
