Hi there,

I saw that Moto-Charlie from New Hampshire was already asking about this but for the ST1100. I've been reading comments about the windshields available on the market ( Cee Bailey, Aeroflow, National Cycle's V-Stream, Bike-Quip, Clearview, etc.) and I thought I'd send out the question again but for the 1300 this time.

So is there anyone out there as well as their passenger that is completely satisfied with the protection they're getting with their after market windshield? We don't usually ride above 75mph (120km/hr). If yes, which one do you have on your bike?

Oh yea, the convertible thing ain't an option!

Thank you.

Thanks Mike. I have ordered stickers from Bike-Quip and I like their products as well as their delay of delivery. About the shield, do you ride with a passenger and if yes, what is their comment on comfort (wind)?

I do ride with a passenger sometimes with no complaints as I did when the stock shield was on my ST, use to have a lot of buffeting from the wind. I got the smallest shield they have which is 2" wider than the stock in the grey tint.

Completely? Probably not 100%, but she says that the V-Stream is a ton better than stock, and I agree.

But it is ugly as all get up!
 Agreed! But not as fugly as the Clearview I tried. Yep the V-Stream is huge piece of plastic--but I have always been a "Function over Form" guy, especially for cold/wind/rain protection.

I would also suggest the Bike-Quip shield to you. This shield quieted the ride more than any one of the shelf full of $500.00 helmets I've gone through trying to quiet the wind noise and buffeting. It also looks really good on the bike. I rarely ride with a passenger, but she's had no complaints.

Thanks,
Allen K

Clearview tinted large with the Gold Wing vent. Wife loves it over over the stock!!! Lot less wind and more quite over stock. More pics in my gallery under Black Magic.

Cee Bailey +2 inches taller and +2 inches wider.

Meaning what exactly JD if I may ask? Is it better than the Bike-Quip or are you just putting it out there as another good alternative to the stock w'shield? I'm also looking for something that keeps rain, wind, road noise down and the Bike-Quip seems pretty good but they all claim to be the best! Is the single biggest factor the size, the shape or a combination of both?

Everyone is different and you will get 1000 different opinions about the same product, you have to find what works for you!! Good luck. :D

Skipman,

Just the solution I went with. I liked the extra protection, my pillion said she was more comfortable. I went with Cee Bailey off a recommendation from a friend that is a pilot and had experience with their products from that industry. It was a much thicker windshield.

Belated thanks to you JD

I think what works for some may not work for you. It depends on how tall you are as well as how tall your wife is.

This thread is a little stale, but I think I am going to try the AeroFlow (probably the sport - the tour looks gigantic). Waiting for a call-back for their comments. Pretty spendy, but if it cuts down the turbulence NOISE on my helmet, and cuts back the passenger buffeting and turbulence noise, I'll certainly accept the curious turtle shell-look. Might carve down the OEM for a "sport shield" for use in riding clinics and precision riding practice (+ get that more "sporty" look for lower speed around town riding in warm/hot weather. Will let you know what happens... stay tuned.
