Looking for projects on the Myford and thought i would create some bling bar end weights, on more serious note, learned to center on non self centering chuck with dial indicator, taper the Rod drill through and create a pocket recess for allen head bolt and then square the recess bottom with a mill end and using live end which was not really needed, all new steps to me.

I am half way through its twin which is taking half the time. Dont ask what the Brass Rod Cost but very happy with the outcome. The bar end weights were Cherry Red but now gone pink in the sun at work, same as the rocker covers which need re coating. A bit wasteful i know, but the counter is a learned something which might be applied to more non decorative needs later.

13 ounces for EACH handlebar weight. Over 1.5 pounds for both. And ppl wonder why the 1100 is so heavy...

I think the polished brass would look beautiful though.

Lathes are sooooo much fun aren't they. Seal drivers, bushing drivers, I have so many things I have made with mine. As well as making lots of shavings.
