HOW do you deploy the center stand and rock the bike back up on it if you don't get off the motorcycle and stand on the left side of it?
And if you do that, don't you have to deploy the side stand for at least a few seconds as you get off the saddle?
Or do you dismount while you're still balancing the bike without any mechanical support between it and the ground???
Can you just stay in the saddle with your feet touching the ground, and somehow deploy the center stand while you're still straddling the bike?
(I tried this on my ST-1300 three times. Twice I simply did not get the bike up on the center- stand, and once I almost did but then the bike wobbled and tipped and fell over.)

on the center stand,
and I cheated a little bit by rolling it up on a couple of flat three-quarter inch thick boards first then I stood to the bike's left side and rocked it back and pulled up while pushing 1 foot down on the centerstand .

Oh, and I first parked the bike after a ride on its side stand outside the garage,
then I opened the garage door and rolled the bike in and put it on its side stand for a few seconds in the garage
and after I got the flat boards in place behind the tires, finally I rolled it back and lifted it up onto the center stand.
It stayed there overnight and I checked the oil level through the sight glass the next morning.

You can balance and hold the motorcycle with your hands while getting off of it and then once standing beside it deploy the centre-stand all without ever using the side-stand. It isn't something that I would recommend doing on a regular basis because of the obvious risk of dropping it but I have done it a couple of times and it isn't really that difficult.
You are a much bigger fella than Dave (@dduelin) and when he had his ST1300 he put it up on the centre-stand without much difficulty.

As Andrew said. Bike in neutral, feet on floor, hold bars and get off holding the bike upright. Then put it on the centre stand.
You could arrange for a bit of wood so that you can rest the bike almost vertical on the side stand, and get off keeping your weight on the left of the bike.
I can stand up on the ground and not be clear of the saddle - which I do at most traffic lights - cos my knees are quite bent in normal riding position.
