Nice!!! Does this system work well for you? Is your helmet wired with speakers or just using headphones? Was this difficult for you to install and is your wiring wrapped? How long did this take? Did you do this over your winter season? My biggest question is this system weather proof?

No, it's not water proof, but the dash area doesn't get that wet during rain and I will just cover up the XM radio & MP3 player/audio amp with a shower cap when it does.
Yes, the system works great and I am just using earbuds or a set of molded earplugs & earbuds.
The Sirius XM receiver actually runs off of 5 volts. It came with a "cigarette lighter" 12 volt plug in power adapter, but I didn't want to use that. So I got a 12 volt to 5 volt/ 3 amp converter off of Amazon for about $8 w/shipping and used it to power the Sirius XM radio. I made my own mount for the radio & MP3 player.
The MP3 player/audio amp runs off of 12 volts, so that wasn't a problem. The MP3 player/audio amp ( from MCM Electronics ) was about $20 and has an aux input. That's the input I use for the output of the radio. Music files can be loaded from a USB memory stick or SD/MMC card. I don't know the size limit yet. I have about 250 songs on the USB stick and no problem so far. In the picture, I have silver tape over the SD/MMC slot, BTW. There are volume controls on the MP3 player. It's actually a NipponAmerica model NDVA-1000 Digital MP3 Player with FM Radio. OF course, the FM radio performance isn't that great. I removed the FM antenna since I will be listening to the satellite channels.
I tapped into an extra circuit I had already installed for my heated vest. It's "hot" only when the ignition is on ( added a relay ) . The radio draws way less than 0.5 amp and the MP3 player about 0.2 amp .
I have a little shelf that is part of the mounting bracket ( that you can't see in the picture ) that the Sirius XM Radio antenna sits on - it has a magnetic mount.
