A real Saturday too. A real snow storm too. Pffffffftttttt.
Time for Dark Italian Roast and the Croissants will be out shortly. Help ya'selves. It's Brrrrrrrr, snow covered and 45 mph winds are forecast. The sort of day we live for, no?
It may be another kitchen day, there's a venison ragu that won't make itself and there's some staining to be done too. We'll see.
Er'Indoors is informing me that there is chaos on the local roads, why do people who can't drive well think they can drive really well in winter conditions? It's a mystery.
But apparently this too will pass.
Av a gud un and remember, sometimes we're not as good as we think we are.
Upt.

Good Saturday and welcome to the Monkey House!
Thanks for getting the caffitation started, Ray!
What croissants too? What a PAL!

Wow! A windy day at the farm yesterday!
Typical for this time of year.
I was able to put off another leaf blowing session and give my poor old ankle a rest.
Those more stubborn leaves get knocked from their perch and down they come.
Hmmm, today's work I guess.

'Good news is my friends JD tractor is running again.
Some quick probing found a bad ground was the issue.
Nothing worse than bad ground - remember that.

But now, he's gotten himself in a pickle.
He bought what JD calls a Powerflow which is a grass/leaf catcher system - antique by today's disposable standards.
Looks like we might have to do some fancy fabrication since some needed parts are now obsolete.
The nerve of JD!
Oh, for you Canadians - I learned about Kijiji searching the 'net for parts!

There's snow to the North of us - wayyyy North - (Y'all keep it there, please).
We here in NC have chaos everyday driving - don't need snow for that!
But a cold day was here yesterday nonetheless.
It was the cold you feel indoors too - brrrrrrrr.

Y'all have a Winterfill day!

Flippin wet and windy down here in Gloucestershire. I was all set to hunker down and binge watch some TV but Chief of Staff is performing at the Christmas Lights turn on in Cheltenham today.... sooooo 'Oh darling... I was going to take the bus but it's forecast to be even worst this afternoon and the traffic and parking will be bad.... will you drive me in?' As though I have any option  .... Love her.... I don't even like her :D

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Italian roast Ray, and for the croissants too.

The electronic weather entity says it's 42°F and cloudy in Cincinnati at the moment. Cloudy all day and a high of 48 is what's predicted.

We enjoyed yesterday's concert, but I was wrong about the composer. The opera The Three Cornered Hat is by Manuel de Falla, not Mozart as I incorrectly reported yesterday. Also on the program was Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, a work I quite enjoy.

Meals with family rounded out a very pleasant day.

Today I'll search again for a specific Bourbon, requested by my neighbor, before heading to an exhibit of photos by Ansel Adams (no relation to me, that I know of) and then to the birthday party that is the object of the trip.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

G'Day...

5°C, sunny, blue skies, noticeable wind... the howl woke me up way before dawn...

ya know where the Nespresso machine stands, so help yourself, cups are in the upper cabinet, don't forget to top up the water tank while at it...

fresh self baked rye bread, soft boiled eggs, butter, Camembert, sausage cut, etc... all locally farmed & produced...
That glass in the middle? See the label: "MIL's best"... granny's homemade strawberry jam... looks pale you say? Well it lacks the squeezed out scale bugs added to industrial grade jellies (the food color Carmine is processed out of Coccoidea bugs)... and to avoid people's barfing reflex they just label it innocently E120 instead of "Beetle-juice"... still qualifies as 100% natural biological ingredients though... ;)

The neighbor seems to be done with installing Xmas ornaments, at night his place looks like an offshore oil-rigg had s@x with a cruise-ship... dazzling...

We'll have friends over for dinner, GF already rummaging in the kitchen, flipping pages of a cooking book...

One corner of the room looks like a storage facility... Amazon cartons... GF had me order quite a volume for the family... more inbound

Mower robot on the last round for this year, will clean and store the grass bug for the winter then...

Reloaded the bird-feeder, the little pterosaurs love their sunflower seeds...

have a nice w/e!

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Ray. 50F on the dog walk with a 1/2 moon lighting the way and some stars along for company. didn't see any clouds, but then it was dark out. not to sure about today. its a wait and see what the wife has on her list of things to do.
I need to go to the post office and get a shipping box to send some gifts to my son in Virginia and would take care of my shopping/buying for the year. well our high for today should be 82F. enjoy the day

stay safe
