First, FIRST! Have folks West of Cornwall learned how to sleep at night? Let's hope so.
The Dark Italian Roast is ready and the Croissants are out of the oven. A slow but steady start here. But it's gonna get busy. Well busy in a retired laissez faire sort of way. We may even eat cake.
The rain passed through overnight in an obliging and English sort of way, the day is now mild and dry with little wind....but wait....what's that? Ashley is now a "weather bomb"? Wow. Haven't got a clue what a weather bomb is other than it sounds more dramatic than storm for the dramatists.
It's gonna get windy into tomorrow and Monday apparently, it sounds like Autumn. Why do people like Autumn? You know it's six months before Easter arrives? No? Pffffffftttttt.
Well the chicken breasts won't cut and marinate themselves, the gate needs rehanging, the garden needs tending, cars need washing, the.....pffffffftttttt.
Av a gud un and remember, sometimes the hours just run out.
It's the way of things.
Autumn!
Upt.

Thx again Ray, for coffee, food and weather alerts!
Let’s hope it all swings right (and not necessarily in a political way).
Oh no, I’m going to be banned….

13˚c/55f, a mix of rain and sun, 25mph wind from Rays’ direction.

Shopping with missus in a bit.
She claims she’s going for a swim at beach later….12˚c/52f in the water….so I’m the designated life guard today.

Yesterdays choir performance was ok.

Shrimps and an italian white wine later.

Have a really good one!
Try, at least.

Stu

From yesterdays ride…..very nice…crossed six bridges, and rode a lot of backroads I’ve never seen before….a shadow of a troll appeared on the picture…or is it Kermit sipping beer?

Good morning and thanks for the coffee and croissants, Ray.

We're staying in Concord, NH, where it's 31, going to 72.
Currently foggy but becoming clear, once the fog burns off.

We'll work at the track in Loudoun for the 24 Hours of Lemons race, which will happen over two days.

Enjoy your day,
Steve

good morning all. Dark Italian Roast will do just fine, thanks Ray. 48F on the dog walk with all the same actor's out to show off there skills. but it was a bit chilly, needed a light jacket for the walk. clouds, stars and moon all made a nice sky to enjoy.

dog park this morning and maybe some shopping later. seems we are getting low on milk bone dog treats. can't have that.

our high should 71F enjoy the day

stay safe

Good Sat'day morning all!
Gosh Ray, I read your post and I was tired again!
Too much to do in Wooler and no time to do it!
I suggest a very comfortable chair and paper and pencil - write everything down.
Write and write, you'll have had a nice nap once you wake up!

It's cold here on the ranch. The grass hasn't grown yet but I'm hoping soon.
Leaves are changing, leaves are falling.
If you listen, you can hear the squirrels a-calling.

What to do, what to do?
Hey, here in NC we celebrate Halloween and Christmas at the same time.
Here's a page from Home Depot.
It's kinda funny - I'm sure there's Thanksgiving in there somewhere too.
I love walking through Home Depot in the Fall!

Y'all have a winderfill day!

Good morning all, and thanks for the coffee and croissants, Ray!

Well, it looks like Indian Summer may be upon us. We have a crisp morning at 7°C/45°F with a feels-like of 5°C/41°F, but the high will be an unseasonably warm 18°C/64°F, with nary a hint of humidity or windchill. And the sun will shine brightly all day. Sounds delightful to me.

I am awaiting delivery of the sofa ordered months ago; it will finally arrive sometime between 9:30 and 12:00. I'm nervous about it, though, as the doors to our condos in this complex are high, but not very wide (why, oh why do they do that??). According to my measurements, they should be able to "jockey" it in sideways, or they may have to take the door off (which isn't difficult). If my reckonings are off and they can't get it in, I'm in trouble. The person who lived here before me had a sofa that was an inch or so wider than the one I ordered, so I'm thinking if she got hers in, they should be able to fit mine in. But hers might not have been as deep as mine, I don't know. Anyway, we shall see.

@STooRay: Oh, that's definitely Kermit!! And I don't blame him for sipping beer...it's not easy, being green.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Ah! A new comfy couch! Hope it goes well.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the coffee and croissants Ray.

It's a damp 66°F in Rome. Perfect for an extended afternoon nap to decompress after the crowd scene at the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica. What a place that is. I didn't even try for photos of the general interior, just settled for this modest number by a young Mike Angelo.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them.

Good morning ,thanks for the java . Cold and frosty here this morning ,north shore of Lake Erie . Looking after 2 dogs for the weekend and they wanted out at 5:30 this morning . So out for a walk with 2 not so well trained pups in the dark but I did get to see the beautiful sunrise . Take care and have a great day eh ! This afternoon features a hit the little white ball and chase it around a really nice manicured area .

Thanks for the coffee Ray, but I wish you would just keep your autumn to yourself.

But i know you won't. Because you can't, no matter what the CIA conspirators would have us believe. And what happens next, and too soon, at that?

Winter. There, I said it. Don't look at me in that tone of voice, y'all know it's true. And winter sucks, snow or no snow. Or snow blow, for some. Pfffttt. Not for me.

Alarm woke me up, when I should have been able to sleep in till 7am, but I forgot to cancel it after I had it wake me for the Vintage Festival last Saturday... which reminds me I need to put up the pictures on SmugMug. Well, I'm always late for something.

So I'll go change some dirty oil, don't wanna be too late for that.

Maybe someone will be along soon to give my weather report. Where's Obo?

Never mind. It's cold (47) and getting slightly warmer (74) under clear skies, so it's time for more coffee.

Enjoy your autumn. Some of you asked for it.

Update: The sofa has landed! I warned the two delivery guys that they might have to do some "creative tilting" to get it through my door; they just looked at me and smiled.
It took them less than 2 minutes to get it in. Booyah. "You've done this before, " I said. They just looked at me and smiled.
It fits perfectly in its designated spot and the colour is perfect. My living room (or lounge, if you preferz0 finally looks like a living room again.

Morning all! Grey and wet here, which will last the day, currently 12C with 14C being the forecast high.

On tap for the day; a visit to the vet and the lighting store to get illuminated about lumens. Sounds like the Monty Python sketch about lupine.

It's also election day here for our provincial government. A friend's wife is running so will cross fingers for her success. Over 1 million people have voted in the advance polls out of 3.4 million eligible voters so it would appear people are engaged....or just hate lines....

Hope everyone has a great day and sees the light! Remember, vote early, vote often!

@Upt' North West Cornwall? The weather has been echoing yours with torrential rain through the night, but today blue skies and calm.

Anyway I'm ALWAYS late to the party but have spent most of the day putting the oufit back together. The actual difficult bit, that is putting the sidecar on was a breeze. Three bolts, one electrical connector, intercom connector and stereo connector..... 15 mins, then the hydraulic brake connector... fill the female side with a bit of brake fluid and connect, check for solid feel at the brake level.. 3 mins. Then just check the vertical set up of the Flexit... yup, all looks good. Check the sidecar lights... yup, all working... remove the bulb from the bikes front left indicator 30 secs. Remove the bulb from the bikes rear left indicator...... ya #$£%+$#.... I can't get to it via the rear compartment 'cos that's full of Cruise control computer, Vacuum activator, Intercom etc so you have to wangle your hand up the outside of the bike where the panniers fit until you can reach the light fitting then turn it remove it and take the bulb out.... normally works a treat, albeit with a bit of cussing.... not this time, the light fitting would turn but would it come out, not on your nelly! After 2 hours of skinned fingers lots of swearing I gave up, got the pliers and ripped one the wires out... that sorted the bugger :o-o:

Just means I have to get in there during the cold and wet winter nights and sort it out properly.

Anyway, after some more work, the oufit is back together, test ridden with no horrible sounds from the drive and the sidecar is behaving itself after virtually 12 months in the garage.

Pic... fitted but with bodywork to go back on.. note the high tech handbrake on the ground!

Hello all!
Thanks for the start Ray!
We pulled in the drive @4:40AM, (me, the moose & the bear)
We had a difficult time getting the trailer weight distribution sorted with the moose & the bear weighing down my truck & 3 side by sides on the trailer.
I’ll try to catch up on everybody’s posting.
